Does anybody know where I can get some? Must admit I haven't tried halfords yet or a ducati dealer as both seem to rip you off. Also wondering if they could be brighter?
I have considered fitting LED bulbs in lieu of the standard ones, but as I have two spare warning light circuit boards with bulbs (one board in a complete dash with clocks), I'm not too worried at the moment....... .............with a bit of research, you will find they aren't that hard to find (standard or LED versions).....just make sure they are the right fitting and they have the diode / resistor already in the LED bulbs. AL
local motor factors ..... or ebay most things say made in china anyway so cut out the middle man bought led rear stop/tail from ebay £2.99 for a pair halrauds £9.99 also set of 4 led indicators £12.99 compared to £30-40 in the shops here oh and led capless side light bulb think it was £1.99 a pair (nice and bright ) just had to get resistors for the indicators which cost a few quid
Don't replace the dash bulbs with leds as I did and it went haywire with loads issues. Upgrade to 2 watt bulbs, the standard are 1.2 watt and useless. Now I can see my dash in sunlight. A great improvement. You will find them on ebay
I've changed to LED bulbs with no problems. Picture doesnt really do them justice as I took it on my phone, but they are nice and bright and I can see them in the sun. Cost me £7 total from CrazyLED's. Photo "Led's in the dash" in the album "Our Bikes" by Amentia | Ducati Forum
Glad it worked for you. How did you sort the indicator as current flows both ways? I should add that mine were cheap crap from China cause they had a mind me their own. Had no issues with the bulbs which are not quite as bright. The leds were a little too bright at night too.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The Led's only works one way round. The only problem I had was the fast flasher rate, but I just got an LED flasher relay off the net, and that sorted it.
Remove white plug and unscrew panel on underside of dash......the bulb holders twist out...........depending which bulbs you want to buy you either discard the holders or buy them with a new holders or get bulbs that push into the holders.
The leds I got had resistors soldered to them. The engine oil light went on now and again and the neutral light only worked some of the time. The indicator only worked one way as the current seems to flow both ways as standard. If others have been ok then great but I went to the upgraded bulbs and I am very happy
Yeah thanks 286, could only get the 1.2w ones from my local motor factors, D & A in Forfar, did say they could get some 2w ones though, which could be handy. Turned out I only needed to replace one as the oil pressure switch was faulty (replaced with an Audi one for £6 from D & A, slightly different switching pressure, 0.43 bar I think) and the charging one just isn't getting told to light at all, possibly be a bad connection like most of the electrical problems I've had so far, hoping so anyway. Getting it mot'd on Thursday, fingers crossed. Cheers
