  1. heh - who knew....ill go and take a look.

  2. yup - I'm going. MOT and belt service bike Thursday this week. Going over next Friday 30th to arrive for Saturday first races. Lots of bits gone on bike over the last month or so - not had a chance to update forum.

Shame there isn't a Ducati meet on the island.

Plus I do have a spare ticket for bike, rider and passenger - it's on the IOM TT forum for sale - so not too late to join the fun.

    cheers

    Paul

  13. Little disconcerting seeing a piccie on Facebook of a bike on its side having not made it up the little ramp onto the ferry!

Then reading the comments, one of which was saying that they tie all the bikes together on the ferry and that a few years back one guy decided to untie his before the boat had got to dock and then the other ones in the line all fell over!

Anyone know how they tie the bikes? I assume tie downs and pads in between??

  14. Never been for a few years but the boats used to be the king orry and the lady of mann run by steam packet company . They are probably the oldest ferry's in the uk . No sign of any tie downs or pads, you were lucky to find some rope , and the only reason bikes would be tied together would be because there were no hooks on the ground anywhere near. In the eighties when I went over , same boats , came down after a particular rough crossing to find a big heap of bikes at the front of the boat that had heaped themselves up 2 meters high . Wasnt much better the last time in 2006 think it was the same rope.

  15. Oh good....

  16. What's the weather like over there.... Ive got a set of supercorsa's on which will do for the trip... Just.... But if it's wet then I need to change them on Saturday...

  17. Everything says cloudy... At the moment...

  18. Seems like it's changing by the day. Yesterday the outlook was quite good.

  19. I checked earlier and was wet a little on Sunday and Tuesday but other days mostly ok. That's a heck of a lot better than when I checked a few days back...

  20. Yeah.... I think I'll go with what I've got (at the moment). Supercorsa's are dangerous on anything else other than dry..... Have to get from Bristol to Liverpool at least in the dry...!
