I used to take cars there to mess about. Never took anything decent just sub 2k track cars. Wouldn't take a bike as when I went a while ago the corners are all sharp and slow. Plus it's not really a proper track in my opinion.
Granted it is not one of the countrys premier circuits but it is great for road riders who have never done a track day. I did the British Superbike School Level 1 novice day as my first ever experience of circuit riding last week. Its a good alternative to a conventional track-day. It combines classroom based theory lessons with plenty of track time and coaching from experienced instructors. The small number of riders on the circuit gives on many occasions an empty track in front of you. The ratio of riders to instructor (2-3 per instructor) enables personal and meaniningful feedback. The circuit itself is not intimidating and perfect for novices with enough variety to keep more experienced track riders happy. The track is flat and has corners you can see through so you know what is coming up and is easy to learn. The emphasis is on getting the basics right, gradually building your knowledge and improving your skills over the day thereby making you a smoother and hopefully faster rider. The level of rider experience on the day is generally at novice level which is reassuring. There is no pressure to push yourself beyond what you feel capable of. However, as you progress through the day you begin to realise how good your bike is which gives you the confidence to push a bit harder.
