Anyone heard of/used the Motobatt battery ? sounds good and Busters doing for £40 ! Think I may order one
Got one on the 748 had it 18 months never been on charge and starts every time, can't praise it enough. Steve
Yes motobatt are great - not as good as odyssey but still better than standard lead acid batteries. Make sure you check out the possible reasons for the flat battery first though - no point shelling out on a new battery if your regulator/rectifier is knackered as it'll just fry the new one too...test the reg before fitting the new battery to save yourself in the long run.
Hi thanks, doubt it's more than the battery tho, 8 years old but hasn't been running for a while just on the optimate. Not enought volts to spin her over, only showing 11.4 on full charge but thanks
I got a bosch AGM battery and never charge it and always starts up first time Well tell a lie I did charge it a couple of time when first got it but because I was just so used to have to do it
You can buy some expensive battery cable kits like the Motolectric HICAP kits, but all I did was get some 35mm square welding cable, the right sized lugs on eBay, some heat shrink tube, and had a local battery place crimp them for me after I cut them to length. It did help that I had the bike in bits when I did it, but its not hard. From what I remember, if you want to do all the cables, there one to ground on the LHS of the engine, the negative to the starter, and the positive from the battery to the solenoid. Fires up very quickly now, versus several chug chugs of the old set up!
