So are you now goin on a safe ridin course also and stop your aggressive road antics . Ha ha rip it up keep slapping .
By the sounds of it you'll love track days and if anything you'll become a better (more refined) road rider OR give it up all together and just do track Agree a 1199 is a bit pricey to chuck down the track but being honest it sounds like you're nearer to chucking it down the public highway more than a track. From what I've read the 1199 chassis is stiff and unforgiving, by default that's gonna make it more nervous on the road but pin sharp on a track. Give a day a try, you haven't got to be the fastest, in fact you won't be so don't go with that idea. But you'll be amazed how good a day you can also have on a 10 year old £2k bike at track, my R1 is worth £2k crashed or as it stands, hence why I use that for track.
Hi, Can you mount a go pro to your head and film the whole episode and then post it here so we can see how bad things are for you? Mind you if it was me having massive tank slappers every time I went out, me thinks me would be scared!:Nailbiting:
If you were having massive tank slappers EVERY TIME you went out then I'd advise you gave up before you killed yourself or worse still, killed someone else.
Honda's didn't have steering dampers for many years, because the said that it shows a poorly set up chassis. Would be interested to see if the Ohlins fixes your issue. Personally I rated the electronic one on my cbr600, it would adjust for speed and throttle position and it was really good
i know what i am gonna sound like hear and perhaps i shouldn't but feck it. my biggest fear on the road is other bikers, its constantly in the back of my mind when going for an overtake that should be more than dooable theirs gonna be some prick on a bike cumming round the next corner on the wrong side of the road. living up here in gods biking country there is a lot of accidents and fatality's there is rarely a week that goes by where the wife and kids have been forced on to the verge because some freeking road warier thinks he is invincible. the roads are very fast up here with lots of corners you can see in and out of and too right give it some. but a message to the nobs amongst us if you think i will drive in to a field just because its a 4x4 to save your life your fucked, you will deffo be killed under the wheels rather than risk my or my kids life.
James. Try Odiham MCC Odiham Motorcycle Club for cheap and frankly outrageously good marshalled and organised track days. The road, ahem we all take the piss now and then, is for quick but tempered riding at most. Do a track day. Although I am sure some fortunate person will gratefully receive your kidneys. Do a track day. You will kick yourself after for not doing them sooner. Did I mention track days?
I also thought that my 1198 was too nice to chuck up the road on a track day. Yet I was still prepared to commit to certain bends on the road regardless. Once I realised this, i decided to commit more on track days. No lampposts on a track day. One of these days the M23 north to M25 east slip road is going to be the end of me.
For some reason road track days have never really appealed to me plus as mentioned not exactly cheap.Save a fortune and buy a moto x bike and take it racing. Now those tracks are exciting and a lot of fun. Plus I find the danger of fast road riding part of the buzz and especially the un predictability of it all.Id take a mad thrash to Abersoch in N Wales and back anyday to riding round and round a tarmac track.Plus you get to chill on the beach for a while and check out the sailing race when I was there.
