Brands Hatch With Fe, 24th June

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Android853sp, May 30, 2014.

  1. We did enjoy Brands on Wednesday despite the weather, so we have decided to book the dawn 'til dusk track day on the 24th. Got transpoders on the day and after using them at Cartagena in March the grouping should be pretty good by mid morning. Clearly from the current posts about FE I know it's a Marmite choice but we haven't had any major problems on the 3 events we've done this year so we are looking forward to the day and it would be great to meet any of the forum members. 2. do they tell you the times? May be useful as a test day...

  3. From what I recall, timings are available after the event at an extra cost. I got an email with 3 days worth of timings from Cartagena for about £10 so about 50p a session. Andy

  4. Pmsl Fe all over then! I see they are now offering wet weather insurance at £20 or something too. Ryanair's answer to trackdays

  5. Yes but you had better read the terms and conditions. I had it explained to me and I'm still none the wiser. Much better to buy a set of wets and get out there and have some fun. Andy

  6. I think the general opinion is its not a great option. You actually have to be at the circuit, get a signature for each session you miss due to the rain. So you've still got the expense of travel/ accomodation/time off work and you have to sit around all day all for £30 extra.
As you said getting a set of wets would be the logical option.

  7. I wonder if they are regulated and authorised to sell insurance, and what the statement of demands and needs looks like...

  8. Would have liked to have done this but unluckily for me I'm in Turkey for 2 weeks from the 23rd :D

Although I'm thinking of the GP circuit on 10th July.

    Hope it's dry for you!

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  9. Thanks Jef, you too mate. Andy

  10. FE claim all bikes transported abroad are insured so I called and asked who the underwriters were. FO it's confidential was the reply. Enough said.

Have a good TD, wet or dry Brands is fun.

  11. We went to Cartagena with FE in March and the bikes were looked after. We watched them being loaded and tied down at both ends and neither bike was marked. We did speak to a couple of people who had experience of damage to their bikes and said that their claims had been settled amicably. You can only speak as you find and they have been fine to us - so far :). Andy

  12. If they are insuring themselves then who cares, as you'd sue them anyway. However, if they are selling others the insurance...

  13. Been with focused to two European events now. They photograph the bikes now before there loaded, and from my experience if you take a bit of care an put some bubble wrap on the sticky outy bits no problems. Sheer numbers being loaded mean an occasional scuff which bubble wrap can prevent.
