  1. Met Bruce Anstey today... Prodded him to make sure he was real.... What a nice bloke.

  2. :) He should be a national hero in NZ, but hardly anybody knows who he is :(.

  3. In the pits the other day and dean harrison walked past us after coming second in the race
Totally nice ordinary level headed bloke.
Its a brilliant event despite the very sad loss.of life both for racers and visitors.
I for one will be back.as will my father who fell of at the gooseneck.

Not many gen1 multistrada around. View attachment 29840

  4. So, what do you all think of women racing in the TT?

  5. Utter admiration for anyone willing to take on this challenge. Would be great to see more women compete alongside men.

  6. I think Estelle Le'Blond kicked a few arses today in the Sidecar and Hayley-Jayne Capewell did a mega job at 19 years old to get 2 finishes in her first year.

  7. The guys on the boat were very professional. I didn't see anyone complaining about the tie ins, they used plenty of cloth/towels to tie down the bikes.

  8. Have to agree, bike never moved either way....

  9. Thought id throw some up....

  10. I want to go back after seeing those :) I like the ones of the guys on the corner.

  11. Gorse Lea - mile marker 7 - that was the best day ive had there yet in the 4 years ive been going....we always try to find a different spot every time we watch a race but I have to go back there next year for a number of reasons:

    1. Gorse lea is one big right hander, passing closest to you on the wall....
    2. Harold the farmer lets you park the bike round the back in the field.
    3. You can stand in his garden or, sit on the wall.
    3. Harold's wife is round the back literally rolling 8 different types of cake of the assembly line along with sandwiches and....
    4. Tea. And you even get a mug.

Plus on top of all of that we met a couple of lads from Morcambe driving around on GS1200's with top boxes loaded with cake....we actually met them last year as we were up on the mountain and just got chatting....this year we were at Sulby straight and my mate said "would'nt it be cool if the 2 northern'ers were here again" went round the back of the pub and there they were - mug of tea in hand....in fact ive got some footage of them which I thought about throwing up of them in comedy genius action....comedians the pair of them....

  12. That's great, can't beat cake and a mug of tea! We camped at St Johns football ground just around the corner near Ballacraine. I stopped around Gorse Lee a couple of times when I was lost trying to find the campsite on the night I arrived! Need to book again for next year

  13. Well, id like to think im going back but all the ferry places have gone pretty well....so the northern'ers tell us the best time to look for tickets is march 1st as that's when tickets have to be paid by, or go on to standby...which is ironically what they do....and they get over every year....

We stay at my mates house in Port St Mary (he goes over to his girlfriends house) and send the clothes over the week before - that way we can travel light.

  14. Cheers for mentioning that, looks like we need to get our act together then. We just did practice long weekend this year and I'd like to do half practice week and half race week next year so I can still ride the course but also see some of the racing. We've got a mate over there who has offered camping space so I might look at sending the gear over as well.

  15. We were at St Johns from saturday night to thursday (race week).

    Pretty good place.....

  16. Youre welcome...if you still interested/get some ferry places - my workplace has an office over there and lots of the lads in the office rent out rooms....as I say at the moment were sorted for accommodation (we always are) - its just getting there that's the issue...

  17. Might be up for that if we can't find anything via our own lines as we don't want to camp again (ever :) ), will let you know.
