hi guys , sorry , this probably was discussed a million times before, but... my third heat shield is melting away. getting bored with it now don't want to replace it under warranty for yet another one. dealer told me that carbon ones got better heat resistance. they quoted me £280 for DP one. anyone tried aftermarked ones from HK or US from ebay ? they look nice and only around £100 the question is : would they last? or is it £100 down the drain?
We've tried and tested a few manufactures and unfortunately most of them burnt badly. We wrapped our exhaust on the show bike and apart from slight discolouration our new exhaust heat shields have lasted extremely well and only slightly discoloured near the vents.
Think its the inner shield that looks like its Glued on same problem i have on the 899 - Warranty is going to cover it just need to get it into the dealer
