Simple question really, as per the thread title! It WONT be left plugged in permanently, more often used every other week if the bikes haven't been run! Thanks! (Oh, and reasons for choice please if poss !)
Well said.....I'v got a Halfords one. Three lights, battery charging, battery charged or battery shagged.... Thirty quids.
I use an optimate, once a week. Stick it on at night ( normally a friday eve ) and unplug following day. Been some debate, but I think plugging in on a constant is not good for the battery. Each to their own i suppose.
I use the bike once a week when I can, come the winter months when I can't always get out I've got an optimate on a timer so I don't have to worry about unplugging it.
FWIW I've always had an optimate and leave it on all the time. My 2001 748 is only on it's second battery (only replaced the first one because it was a bit dinted from a rather rapid stop.....)
The marketing of these things is so misleading. Get the cheapest, all the talk of advanced processors blah blah is marketing spin.
I leave my original optimate plugged in all the time on the panigale. Connection have got a bit ropey now and I sometimes find a red light on the charger as I had to cut in new block connectors. So was thinking of getting a new one...would be interested I n the ctek ones as a comparison to the usual with a permenant connection
