What is your most superfluous bike related purchase?

Extra wide pannier lids bought before I had look at them or had seen them fitted to a bike

  2. Your either going for a long time or......your taking the missus with you!

  3. i nearly bought a carbon fibre towbar but made do with a tax disc instead...that was a few yrs ago..about the same time i actually swung a leg over the Duke...could never bring myself to slum it with a simple bike cover, oh no...Bella the Bitch gets a large cotton sheet (egyptian i hope), a quilt (yes, im serious) a blanket to stop the quilt sliding off, then finally a waterproof breathable cover..she never gets condensation or frost, or even started for that matter.
I check the suede seat etc for moisture just to ensure no condensation is trapped beneath the himalayan battle dress but she's always driza bone..before my neck injury i used to wheel her outside to get some air and an icecream..sadly i cant hold the old girl up because i cant use my right arm/side properly at the moment..but one day she'll be back out there when im well again and the rain stops..i'll wheel her out...give her an unneccessary polish..maybe fiddle with immobiliser some more, have a stare and a brew, then wheel her back in again until next summer.

This was Arnold - a Ducati friend's pet Vietnamese pig. Except that someone forgot to tell him he was meant to be a pygmy. Sadly, Arnold is no more. And no, he wasn't turned into sausages.

  7. I think mine was a carbon fibre rev counter surround.

It flew off the other day on the motorway too, never to be seen again.

  8. For a moment I thought it was our very own Figaro, except it turned out to be better looking! Just joking Mr Figs

  9. The resemblance is indeed striking.

Other people have been guilty of that error.

  15. I don't think you have.

If you'd woken up next to Arnold, you'd have been traumatised for life. (Not that I can assert that from personal experience.)

  16. Yeah, but she looked like Kelly Brook the night before...

  17. That's the one.......

  18. how did the pig handle?

  19. I couldn't possibly tell you.

Arnold was a strangely intimidating pig, as you couldn't see his eyes, and he wasn't especially friendly. If you talked to his owner at length, he got jealous. Bearing in mind what he weighed and the size of his tusks, that was an emotion you had to treat with respect. He did let himself out to pee though, like a well-trained dog.
