Well, play is about to start in North London on a 'green deck' and we have three debutants - only 5 players from that close ashes series last year have kept their places and - Sri Lanka have chosen to bowl ( have you not realised this is a cricket thread?). How will this season pan out....... I am going this saturday, will it piss down with rain all day like the last days cricket (@ the Oval) i went to - we shall see. Once play was abandoned at the Oval, i spent a couple of hours at the Imperial War Museum- which was mostly closed for refurbishment - it wasn't my day, that day. Drank lots of beer though, and stuffed myself on M and S goodies. M and S at Paddington better be well stocked on Saturday morning....
Ahh this is about Cricket. Right with ya. Weather forecast looks good. The big question is, why in the world isn't Jos Buttler in the blody side. He and Bopara nearly saved the one dayer at Lords. Oh well, maybe the ECB like losing.
Well that was a surprise. After losing our openers rather cheaply (as usual) this mornings scorecard doesn't look too bad.
I was at the Lords ODI and the atmosphere was amazing. Sadly don't have any tickets to the any tests this year :Arghh:
indeed, their partners usually off playing at 'curling' and cricket offers adrenaline, danger and excitement - in comparison.....
lucky to have a partner who likes cricket. I took mine once, to egbaston, Ok it wasn't the most exciting days cricket, but she spent most of the time watching Tweety Pie being chased around the stands by mob of 15 gorillas, who then played 'pile on'... it was fancy dress saturday.... somewhat surreal to see a row of 23 Queen Elizabeths , sat in pearls and twins sets ( and masks).......
I don't think she likes it, but as we both know a day at the cricket isn't all about the game on the pitch, its also about the people you watch it with
Joe root ........ Kevin who? I'm Just warming up for tomorrow with a San Miguel.......cant over emphasise pre match routine!
A two test series!!! What is the bloody point of that! From what I could tell it very much seemed like two teams who are both struggling for form, fumbling around in the dark. Still better that the 'other' England team
I read in the paper/online that Sky has to apologise after Andy Strauss was overheard referring to Kevin Petersen as a c##t during the MCC vs the rest of the world match. IMO Strauss has just gone higher up in my estimation for saying it exactly how it is
