  2. Why put a reserve on, why not start at your reserve? What is your reserve? Is it a secret :Muted:

  3. I never got that either! What is the point of keeping a reserve price secret. Does nothing but piss me off.

  4. Just start the auction at the minimum price you would take.

  5. It gathers more interest when the price starts at .99p. And the reserve is not a secret, just ask.

  6. No it doesn't, my interest was waning, which is why I asked, didn't get an answer.....

  7. I don't get the point of reserves on eBay auctions if I'm honest.

There's been plenty of times in the past where I've missed stuff I wanted and was willing to pay but if the person before me doesn't bid high enough then my bid will only add a small amount and not trigger it

E.g. If a reserve is £100 but the person prior to me only bids £70, even if I bid £110 it only shows my bid to be £72 and keeps the rest back unless someone else bids, therefor if nobody else bids I don't win.

The only way it works is if the owner is willing to let people know what the reserve is, that way you can strike a deal

  8. I'd check your size is correct, I tried some on at a shop this week and need XXL, whereas most of my gloves are XL

  9. If you're willing to pay more but the reserve hadn't been met then bud again?

  10. The reserve can't have been £100, if you bid over the reserve then you will be winning the auction unless someone else is out bidding you.
For all interested my reserve is £200

  11. How much did you pay for them?! You can get them for £195 on the net!

  12. The 2 years old model you can yeah

  13. Typical of what you find on Ebay - people selling for more than you can buy new for with warranty!!!
Probably worth £100 to £150 private with no warranty but a proper auction would have determined the true value - why did you buy them and why are you selling - did you get them for £195 at the above link but get the wrong size as the above message ;)

  14. Perhaps I'm mistaken then but I'm sure it's happened to me like that in the past.

    Oh well

  15. Well to be fair to the OP, MCA Leicester list them at £249 and many others at £239

They're not that widely available online at many stores so perhaps me bought direct from a shop?

To be fair it's not my business, good luck with the sale.

  16. Yeh, good luck - lower your reserve too ;-)

  17. It's also cheaper to list an item for 99p than the reserve

  18. Maybe they've got extra fingers on them for Sheppy riders.
