  1. This is Gianluca Nannellis 749R race bike from '05, '06 and '07. He raced it in World Super-sports (WSS) with some success, handing over to Stuart Easton for a few rounds while he stood in for Chilie in WSB. This is the bike that AndyB has been interminably banging on about for months.

The paint here was used for a few rounds in '06, notably Imola and early season testing. It is based on the Hailwood F1 Montjulich and looks stunning in the flesh as it were : )

  5. Nelson, you behave yourself!

It does look nice tho : ) Hoping to get it along to Brands tomorrow to be noise tested and get a few pit lane pics for t'blog. Spent the weekend measuring and marking and measuring and marking and finally getting the drill out to put the holes in the seat unit. The 999RS has mounting points in different places to the 749RS so you have to drill into £1,000 of unobtanium painted carbon. Fark!!

  10. total bike porn ! :)

  11. it's taken a long time and a lot of cash G! But I think she's worth it.

  12. Totally ! only Baby R owners truly know the ways of the force ;)

  13. You are very kind. Mine really needs a clean now thou :upyeah: what did you score on the noise test?

  14. You going to track her?

  15. If I had a bike that beautiful, I don't think I'd dare take it to the track. At least not to ride really hard.

  16. 99 point something : ) I can even do the Brands GP circuit!

Yup, that's what she's built for. All R's should be on track at some point in their lives. I have a theory that the idiots who are going to go off take themselves out in the first couple of sessions of the day, immediately after lunch, or the last session of the day. At least, that's when I've been off. So I ride the 'berg then and get the nice bikes out when the group has stabilised. I don't think these fairings will be going on track often tho! I have another set that will be painted up in different colours and I'll hack around on those. Much cheaper to repair.

  17. Good plan...:upyeah:

  18. I'm astonished! You'll need another map for that level of restriction surely?

  19. Possibly. I need to know where the sound is without the db killers in, but I may be able to get two maps in the ecu, but I have a spare ecu anyway, so we can always program both

  20. I got a bunch of photos in the pitlane yesterday. Not wanting to fill pages here for people who have better things to be looking at, I splurged more of them all over me blog: Jerrys worlds. They also expand massively compared to what I can link through from here. Not a restriction of this site, more of picasaweb.

Since the fairings were done, I sent some pictures to the guy I bought the bike from. He 'sent' them on facebook to Nannelli, who shared them with Carrachi (the team principal). Since then, I've learned a lot about the bike and it's history and have even been contacted by the guy who did the original artwork for the bike. He has a pic on his FB page of a guy applying graphics to Rossis Yamahaha - I'm presuming it's him.

Owning this bike is a very interesting journey that just keeps on going!
