I agree, Rossi was never going anywhere. He will stay until he retires and then go 24 hour racing or similar with the new 4 wheel Ducati's with the 4 ring logo
ive got high hopes for rossi's and ducati's return to the top. audi have very deep pockets and racing pedigree. no chances of audi binning rossi as he brings to much publicitly and fan base to the table!
A meeting took place at mugello! present! Rossi, Dorna boss and......... Top man from marlboro! Go figure that one! I expect Lin Jarvis was sniffing around with marlboro pound signs in his eyes
But it will be cruel for ducati when they loose the biggest sponsor in the paddock! Can't see yamaha turning it away even if Lorenzo has a strop about the news and his new team mate elect!
Interesting. Ive always thought Lorenzo's confidence is a bit much, his cocky wave was to the most predominate Ducati grand stand ... cheeky git. I'm glad he has stopped his winning stunts he got from Rossi though, those were so embarrassing, the Moon walk, slow motion one especially ... I cringe thinking about it.
Also, someone somewhere needs to question the decision making wisdom process that guarantees Bradly a ride in Moto GP next year? OK he did well in that last race, but still. I reckon Bradley Smith is the equivalent of Steve Davis to Snooker, an utterly boring personality, but a very competent player ... it will be interesting to see what Bradders can do with the Yam ... not much i suspect, lets remember ... part of the reason the Tech 3 yams (Honda too in this scenario) are so quick and not too far behind works machinery is because of the switch to 1000cc again, it was almost like starting again, almost a level playing field ... next year will be different, the tech 3 guys will get this years Yams and the 2013 ones will be better. How i wonder how Marco Simoncelli would have done this year, he'd be on the podium and winning I reckon.
Bradley...........he may get a ride he may not. 2013 bikes............. Yamaha start the year out with Factory and satellite teams on 99% the same spec. Not the satellite teams on the last seasons bike. Factory bikes then satelite bikes get upgrades in order of seniority, so the new tech trickles down during the season. I cant see you comment of next year being different being a valid.
how about a relegation a la shitball ..................if you dont perform you get punted back a class ...................can you imagine rossco back on a 250 in moto3.... all this bollocks about marquez being the repsol wonder boy is arse , motogp is not a step up its another world your in for a shock marky boy ....moto2 are just essentially classy 600's however i actually started to feel sleepy watching the motogp the other week so much so i turned over to watch the sbk superpole ........ moto3 on the other hand had me gripped ..............................CMON MOTOGP SORT IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS GETTING LIKE F1 , WHO CARES WHO'S ON WHAT SPARK THE RACING SHAKE IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .......oh and how dare you put edwards on a crt .....emmbarrasing ,woefull,disrespectfull.....cmon col come back where your wanted:biggrin:
Yeah, heard it was a bit of a grey area and not necessarily written in stone, if the promise does not follow through it leaves a potential seat open though or hopefully leaves Dovi where he is. Maybe Bradley should have taken the offer for a ride with Tech 3 this year ready or not? at this level you cant afford to be picky. You are right, parts do filter down to the satellite teams in a year, but they will always be second best parts, its just that the gap this year for going to 1000cc is less, for sure there was absolutely nothing in it going down the straight with a works Honda and sat Honda and that wont happen again next year ... I'm pretty sure of that.
Bradl doesn't look very shocked, and arguably El Marquez has more natural talent... Fireworks to come.
Rumours are that Rossi has the options of a Factory Yamaha in the main team, a Factory Ducati heavily backed with Audi money and offers to go and race their cars in two years time and also Honda seem to have decided they want in by offering a Factory bike but only in a satellite team. Decisions, decisions... not bad for someone who is allegedly past it.
