Is The Hyper 821 More Comfy For Pillion Than Monster 796?

  1. hi guys
planning to make the change to go from my 796 to a hyper 821, mainly because I loved it when I tried it, and, being 6'2 I think it suits me much better.

for the occasional pillion passenger, the 796 was atrocious, to the point of wanting to kick (her) off at the next traffic lights.
any indication that the hyper is an easier bike for that?

  2. I find the 796 hypermotard is good for pillion. See no reason the 821 won't be any different

  3. cool thanks

  4. Hell mate,

Do not know how it compares to the monster but can tell you that, at least for me, it is fine for the occasional pillion ride.

Really believe that you will not have any issue!

  5. Are you thinking of doing trips away or just going out for rides?

    1. Depends how big (she) is - pillions are a long way up on Hyper 821 - affects CoG wickedly
    2. Pillion pegs are very close to your heels so don't expect to get on your toes i.e. your boots will scrape the tarmac on corners if you don't keep them in
    3. Seat is more comfy than my KTM 1190 reportedly
    4. Notice she gets covered in muck from rear wheel
Never ridden 796 Hyper / Monster but 600 Monster was tiny and cramped - am 6'4"

  6. Wouldn't be my choice if you are planning on touring, I found the seat too cramped compared to the multistrada, but was fine for local rides

  7. was really just for the occasional ride in town. when I was doing it with the Monster inexperienced pillion passengers would transfer all the weight to my balls!!

  8. thanks. the "she" is quite tall, and found the monster really difficult to get on with. I am hoping the more upright position of the hyper should mAke the whole thing easier?

not sure I understand this point?

  9. Don't know and don't care BUT I do like your avatar :)
