Does anyone know who manufactures ducati crankshafts for ducati? i am toying with the idea of an ultimate stroker, trying to go to say 75-76mm stroke, obviously i would need an unmachined blank. i have noticed there are certain differences between the cranks up to about 2002 and after, are these made at the same plant? i heard a whisper that the later cranks are made in the USA then shipped to italy, can anyone confirm this? any info would be usefull.
Norman Hyde used to stroke Tridents by building up original big ends with underwater welding(to prevent air pockets) then offset grinding the journals. Might be worth contacting him.
