  1. I have a zumo 660 with mounts, bike kit, case, box etc and a Scala rider g4 on its own that works perfect with the garmin.

Both in perfect working order if anybody is interested.

  2. How much?

  3. How does £250 inc delivery sound? Message me if interested for more info.

  4. That's a good deal

  5. I've sent. Pm....start a conversation... Is that the same thing?

  6. Yep, new name for PM

  7. .
I've got the 350LM and it's fine until you want to install a route via BaseCamp (probably the most user-UNfriendly software I've ever encountered) or if you want to plan a route whilst away from your PC. Last year I kept going round in circles coz I didn't hit the waypoints EXACTLY.

I like the sound of TOmTom's winding road option though. Why hasn't the Garmin got similar feature?

  8. Garmin does have windy roads ,but it's bullshit, much better off looking at a map, then putting in your selected waypoints, the windy roads makes you go down silly roads for say 400 m to bring you back where you were coz it's windier. As for plotting from a PC try tyretotravel( I think) much better and easier, but you still have to pass exact waypoints, that's the way sat navy's work, but you can just skip a missed waypoint a thee push of a button to get you heading for the next waypoint. I recently plotted a route from Normandy to Spain ,and the route was to long for the sat nag,

  9. DukeXTC I agree Base Camp is very un-user friendly, but once you know how to use it, it does work. I agree about the memory though it is annoying.

Michael but to be fair, if that was the case just split the journey into to, it is not like you are not planning to stop somewhere. As for Tyre, not used a PC for like ever, I only use Mac's now, Tyre do not or will not make a version for it, I actually contacted them :(

I have friends who use tom tom too, and they complain also about lack of certain points that would make life easier, hence my post they all have their little pros and cons.

  10. I've purchased AlfG's Zumo 660 and G9....so mitts off....
    Looking forward to Navigation again.
I assume I've got to purchase a "Safety" camera database and perhaps LM for lifetime map upgrades.

Any ideas on what may have happened to my TOMTOM Rider....dead as a dead....

  11. Aha now I have found that out ,but I didn't know until I got off the bloody ferry, still worked but got confused if one little wrong turn was made.

  12. Sat Navs are a pain even friends with 2 tom toms loaded with same route sends each other different ways, and they also have problems with way points if not exactly on the road.

One thing I do like about the 660 is it logs routes what ever so if you follow someone on a route, you can save the log for future use, as long as you do not leave it too long, Another one is you can put in longitude and latitude, useful when using booking.com for hotels that give those co'ords for an exact point where hotel is.

The Zumo has quite a lot of different options but like everything if you only know how to use it, and many are not that logically. it really is horses for courses, but all sat navs will get you there eventually.

  13. Mine had a basic Speed camera data base installed, on Life time maps. so would check it first. not sure if it ever gets updated though.
