Yes, saw your pretty baby being unwrapped this afternoon, very nice. It has company tonight, the guys were just finishing prepping another SL. Spoke to Wilf and I am certainly looking forward to see how things progress. Andy
Bike now safely sat in MR shop. As the engine will be out and stripped, decided to have additional work: - Higher compression piston with single ring - requires new pistons, rings, and liners and crank balanced to suit (they are slightly lighter too) - Gas flowed heads – requires the heads to be stripped and ported then rebuilt – same spec used in BSB Just debating what to do with rear brake - last piece of the jigsaw!
WOW!!!!!!! Just when we thought ya couldn't do any better The SL pistons will be worth abit if ya decide to sell them. They do need the SL cams as well and TI valves so I have read. Surely ya gonna be good for a true 200-205 RWHP when all done mate?
and then my buddy came flying past... good you had those arms done... i d consider doing same thing tho you legs... you just built yourself the world N1 pani , bro... if that beast hits 202-206 on Steve's dyno, it will go in outer space...
Brilliant and amazing project ~ looking forward to the transformation and build, had the privilege to inspect SL#18 up close and personal earlier this week, they started her up for the first time.... great sound ~ awesome bike.... Know the feeling, same here ~ once a motor vehicle is registered its a real pain to get permission to change colour from the original one that went into the system during initial rego....
Hi Russell - thank you. Parts have just started to arrive at MR so as soon as they upload into my dropbox, I will post. The plan is to take pics and video of the build as it progresses so keep watching. I know MR won't start the build until most parts have arrived and the work will take 3 weeks in total including dyno work. Just to give you all an idea of the work involved in takes MR two weeks to build a WSBK....... I reckon middle of July for the transformation to begin.
Minor update: Work starts on bike next Tuesday - engine out and stripped and I am promised lots of pics. Lots more parts turned up too including the larger volume carbon tank which I am told is more RS shaped (well happy!!) and new F14 air box (was not expecting that either!!). I tell u guys, MR (Mr Moore) knows how to look after ya! RAGE designs are working up paint scheme too, so will be interesting to see how they interpreted my ideas! All in all, everyone involved in the project is genuinely excited and looking forward to the build. So hopefully the story and pics begin in earnest next week. Stay tuned!
