  1. any one heading this year?
we are busy planning flights n hotels as i write!!
was awesome last year and defo worth going too
and not as expensive as you think

  2. I was quietly thinking of this myself, given my recent accident and probable written off bike I will at some point need to replace this, and it's clear there's a 2013 Multistrada upgrade coming.

Assuming my injuries allow and I can get a pass out I may well be up for it, plus mentally for me it's a target for me to get myself fit

  3. good man freak..its huuuge!!! and i mean huuuge!!!!...if youve a walking problem then get working on it now! :upyeah:

  4. Well with both legs in casts at present that's going to be difficult

  5. I definitely want to go again this year - I went in 2010 with the UKMOC and I'm hoping that a bunch of fellow Monsteristi will want to go again. (I'd first considered going on discovering that easyjet flights from Gatwick to Milan were cheaper than rail tickets from Farnborough to Birmingham for the UK bike show).

Yes, it's huge! My feet were certainly aching by the end of the day.

Unlike the UK shows there aren't many opportunities to spend your money on the day - no mega jumble sale like cheap lid and jacket stalls. However the range of bike manufactures and aftermarket shiny stuff companies (Zard exhausts etc) was much better than any UK show - from the sublime to the cheapy no-name Chinese scooter companies. We went on press day so they didn't have the stunt shows then, but there were stunt shows etc later on in the week.

  6. bugga !!! weird thing is ive just seen the thread on ducati up north bout your off !!!..GWS brother and hope youll cake it to milan !

  7. :upyeah:...my feet were just aching walking around the Ducati stand !!!

  8. Not this year, Valencia GP for me ;)

  9. Just booked flights from B'ham to Bergamo £24 return !! Poppping over from 17th - 20th Nov.
Always wanted to go to the Milan show but the flights were always from Stanstead  so Ryanair have come to te rescue:upyeah:
So............where is the exhibition center in relation to Milan?
I stayed at the Felice Casati hotel in Milan in 2010 so know the city fairly well. Also tickets? Can you pay on the door? Any advice / tips gratefully received

  10. I think you can get tickets on the day or in advance: Eicma 2012

As to the show location in relation to Milan, there are a couple of maps on the official website: Eicma 2012 Rho is to the north west of the city centre, between Milan and Malpensa airport. I think it's on one of the Metro lines.

If you're going to be there only between 17 and 20 November (public show days being 15 to 18 November) I'd suggest you plan to visit on both the Saturday and Sunday if possible - one day won't be enough - a half day (e.g. if you arrive on a morning flight on the 17th) certainly won't be, especially as it'll obviously be busier at the weekend.

  11. The Eicma venue is extremely well signposted on the Milan tube network and the network is very easy to understand. There's less of it than London after all. Buses run to and from Bergamo airport to either the venue directly or Milan central railway station.

  12. So good to see so many people coming to Eicma. I will be probably there, if u need some more info on Milan just ask; I have lived there for 7 years
    Ciao

  13. Thanks all for the info. Couldn't believe the cost of the flights to Bergamo from BHX - £24 return with NO taxes. Can't get from Worcester to B'ham for that on the train! We arrive Saturday and are planning to spend all day Sunday (18th) at the show. I appreciate that probably wont be enough to see everything but in that time you can see what you really want to. Monday doing the sights in Milan (again), Tuesday, home by mid afternoon. Sounds like a grand weekend without the grand price tag!
One final thing.......Is the show under one roof like the NEC or are there seperate halls to visit?

  14. theres 7 seperate halls to visit ..when you pay to get in ull get a map or try the bike show website someone mentioned in this thread earlier ..itll have amap and list of exhibitors

  15. I'd like to go,

flights are very cheap from Birmingham now at £10. But how would I get from airport to e show?

Any ideas where to stay ?

  16. D8MOK - Desmoboy said in his post "Buses run to and from Bergamo airport to either the venue directly or Milan central railway station." If you're flying into Malpensa instead, there are shuttle buses from the airport to the venue referred to in the directions on the EICMA site itself: Eicma 2012.

Can't help you with accommodation - a bunch of us are staying in a villa whose owner is a mate of our mate's dad - but Vla posted that she's a local so she might have some suggestions.

  17. D8MOK - If you fly into Bergamo (as we are) there's a coach that takes you straight to Central Station for a few euros which is just a few mins wald from the majority of the hotels. The coach runs very regular. We've stayed at the Falice Casata a few times which is a very smart 4* B&B hotel 15 mins walk from the centre of the main square and only 3 mins from the nearest metro stop. We priced it at £222 this year for 3 nights. However we shopped around and got a similar hotel for £150 in the Brera district, only a lazy 10 min walk from the center.

Check out Travel Repubilc and Booking.com, as we've had some great deals on both. We've booked with Travel Reublic this year and got a great hotel (The Ritte) for £150 for 2 people for 3 nights over the show weekend.

Also, read about Milan on Wikitravel - very useful for all your travel questions.

  18. Register as trade you will get free tickets, done that last year.

  19. As we don't know exactly how many tickets we'll be needing does anyone know if it is possible to buy tickets on the door.
