Yep, I love it. My nearest nice river is the Ouse in Bedfordhire, it is warm enough May to October . I`ve done a sponsored swim in Loch Ness, that was cold, bollock shrinkingly cold ! After that most rivers and lakes are easy.
I was thinking more hygiene than temp.... mind you my nearest river / canal is in Southall and appears to be upside down..
The canal in Southall doesnt sound very tempting I agree but if you can find somewhere clean give it a go. You`ll either hate it or come out buzzing and feeling incredibly alive , something that you never get in a swimming pool.
I did Swildon's and it's good. Different to the usual adrenaline rush jobs. When I did it, it was in Somerset - maybe they found an extension. This looks different - with a bit of excitement thrown in. Available near you too.
There's a clay pigeon shooting club just off the A50 East of Uttoxeter, you can get tuition and hire all the kit.
