I'm not sure if that's a sarcastic statement or not but the use of wheelchair bound and disabled individuals in suicide bombings shows the levels they will stoop to. Nothing that you can imagine is out f the question. If you can try it then it might succeed. And you only have to get lucky once.
Absolutely, you simply cannot assume that just because someone doesn't 'appear' to be a threat they aren't. If you don't screen absolutely everybody you effectively don't screen anybody.
David Cameron is smashing out a sound bite on the news today which pretty much explains why they blanket security measures. He says something along the lines of not wanting to be the Prime Minister who has to stand in front of the nation and explain why there was a terrorist attack and how he could have done something to prevent it, but didn't.
