996r Question

  1. So, I believe 350 were numbered and 150 were not as they were intended for race teams. Is there any difference in value between the two?
In 2009 Bonahm's sold a non plaque one (with lights etc) intended for the IOM when foot and mouth scuppered the racing for £16,675 inc premium. In 2013 one of the plaque variants sold for £11,500 including premium. They say Bonham's is a good barometer for value of rare bikes but this seems a little confusing - can anyone throw any light on this?

  2. I can only find 2 currently for sale,1 at £14450 and 1 at £17500. Plaque or no plaque the 996R is getting strong money if you can find a decent kosher one. If you can establish the history and link it tp something like the Isle of Man TT or a particular outfit there will be a premium. Just the way it is I'm afraid especially as I know where there is a nice clean example but cannot convince the owner to sell. Andy

  3. 500 with plaque
    200 without
    Hth

  4. Do you know if the 200 without originally supplied as road bikes with lights or were they Corse build blue printed customer race bikes?

  5. Road spec. As the 500 with no plaque.

  9. No that was ducati taking the piss.. Lol

  10. Agree Bradder's - there's one on Ebay at the moment with a start price of £17,000 but the sellers put a reserve - so £17k reserve not met - why bother! Just start it at the over inflated price that you're looking for FFS.

  11. Especially seeing as u have to pay a fortune for a reserve price on your listing, should have started it at 14k

  12. 17k is pretty high money for summit of that age unless its an unused collectable surely?
I had one from new and only paid 16k for it. Sold it a year later with 7.5k miles on it for 13 if if recall right.

  13. It's low mileage but certainly not new - The Bike Specialists in Sheffield are selling one with 8 miles on the clock £35K !!!
