So I went to Moto Rapido today to get my bike re-mapped for the arrow slip ons that I have. They said the had a pretty well developed map that would eliminate the O2 sensor and de-activate the exhaust valve and ensure a pretty good overall performance boost. Short of 6 hours on the Dyno they reckoned it would be pretty good and it cost me £300 rather than £420+ for the Dyno stuff. The result was simply incredible, it's so smooth now to pull away on, no bike spikes in revs and strangely less mirror shudder! I can sit in 30's in 3rd or even 4th gear without it surging, which was my main issue before. The bike also pulls like a train, I'm not kidding I opened up off a 2nd gear roundabout and it power wheelied, not once but a few times! In addition to this it's like a 2-stroke to blip the throttle between downshifts etc. It even sounds great because I think the exhaust valve is open all the time meaning there is a real 'boom' probably helped by having a high flow air filter and so more airbox noise. So I am REALLY happy, the bike just feels so sharp now! Big thanks to Moto-Rapido they were awesome! I want to point out that I was going to use CJS and no doubt a full Dyno set up would have been even better but Chris is such a long way from me, although he was amazing in his responses to my enquiry. There have been quite a few comments about Termigs and ECU remapping now and I can honestly say it's worth doing.
Sorry just seen this as it's the first time I've logged in, in months. No, they remapped the stock ECU for the cans but I did fit a Ducati performance air filter yes.
Only in 2nd? These bikes have always been able to wheelie in 2nd even on stock cans. But the new map certainly smooths out throttle response and gives everything a crisper feel. Mine even lifts in 3rd just of the the throttle Mind you I do have a full Termi system on mine as well as custom map from Moto Rapido. The biggest difference I noticed was the increase in MPG big bonus.
