  4. I knew a girl from Barnsley, once. Damn fool for letting that one go

Lovely lovely accent I could listen to all day, and only the occasional foreign words I didn't understand. (Over and above the general woman-speak that I don't understand, I mean.)

  5. lol ....why do you think i hooked up with pixie .....mind you she's a plastic northerner.........

  6. According to mate of mine who has not long left the Met, the plod in question has a 'very chequered employment history'....It seems he has 'moved' about the various forces; has left; come back; etc etc......also has several complaints about his behaviour including violence.....

....none of this was shown to the court..........(as usual)

  7. My thoughts exactly!! Honestly lads rein it in its actually a really uncomfortable atmosphere on here and its down to a minority of you! Yeah you are all entitled to your opinions and not everyones opinion is the same but remember you dont have to like each others opinions but equally respect someones as your would expect them to respect yours but for the sake of the majority of other forum members if you wanna have pop at each other either PM or step from behind your PC and sort it out like men and not bitching kids.....this is a ducati forum not Facebook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Used to with a girl that could stir up a good fight. Got many a black eye to prove it. Some of them off her come to think of it.

  9. Pixie, not being funny, but the most unpleasant post I've seen on this forum comes from your old man on this very thread...

  10. +1......and I'm sorry to say in addition to the plod force looking bad because of one plod's actions, the unpleasant post does a dis-service to whatever branch of the forces it refers to.

  12. My God you're right. This is Ducati General Discussion, not Lounge (should really be "Pub - Public Bar at Closing Time").

We should never have let this thread in!

  14. Yeh Yeh ask Pixie about the mole:cool:

  15. Guys, I think you will both find that the point my 'old man' was making is that how many of you have actually been in a situation where you have had to stand in line giving orders....asking people to move on? A soldier would in a riot if required possibly use more force than the copper did in this situation. None of us were there we only know whats been said in the press or on the news......Yes its unfortunate for the Tomlinson family what happened and the verdict was unjust. Funky made a few valid points and indeed expressed his opinion on the situation however there were several clashes of opinions which has resulted in "bitching" between several men on this forum. Clearly some of you in your lives you have suffered some circumstance which in your opinion gives you cause to dislike police. As someone mentioned dont tar all police with the same brush not every serving officer is the same. In Butch's defence he suffers a lack of tact its called a tilt switch and therefore it flicked and he basically said wind your neck in lads no need to get at one another you werent there to witness this vicious attack just as I have in my post. Your all quick to jump on your pedastals and say this, that and the other and fire posts at each other in an aggressive opinionated manner but as I said respect one anothers opinions........funny how when one man in his own manner tells you all to calm it you jump on the band wagon and start firing missiles ! Just goes to show what people can be like.........! So whilst this is my opinion its not an invitation to turn your guns on me as quite frankly Id rather know that grown men actually respect it.

  16. squeeze ........what feckin mole??????????????????

  17. I respect your opinion, but while we are discussing the subject, particularly as you have elected to respond to my post, some of us may have a different view ie;

    1) It wasn't a riot. 2) My mate was in the Met and he was there. 3) I mentioned where real riots occurred..........That should provide a clue that I was backing my statements up with 'knowledge' and 'experience'.

There is also a decent way of 'telling' someone to calm it......Note the word 'telling'. On what authority?.....'Asking' may be a better way.

'Over-reaction' is the issue with the Plod; but equally a foul mouthed over-reaction wasn't the way to ask people to calm it, so I'm not surprised people responded in a critical way.

Effectively the foul response was a verbal example of using a baton in a temper. Front line use of weapons aren't the tools of hotheads. Calmness and surgical use is preferred. Some people here will know what I mean.

There.....That's a post for which I'll willingly accept a Discussion Ender Award.

  19. Ladies, ladies,
What happened in London is neither rare or unique if you read global news events. Yes, its tragic and it does appear that justice has not been served and its doubtful any of us can comprehend how his family feel....BUT....Everyone has the right to an opinion and we are all big enough and daft enough to appreciate this, so calm it down chaps, don't make things personal.....that does not help anything or anyone.

  20. I'm not quite sure what was meant there, but I've just got this to say: a lot of us go back years on the old forum, we know each other pretty well and can almost predict what someone is going to say. We're all grown ups and can have proper discussions and hold our own views without being shouted down.

If someone has a view that you don't agree with, you can say so without threatening to beat them up after school. If you really don't like what someone has to say, you can either ignore it, or don't read their shite. It's refreshing to be able to express unpopular or provocative views on this forum without the old proprietor waving his 'it's my forum' stick about.

For me, I really enjoy reading most peoples posts. I don't get out much : )
