In the interest of starting another thread of fruitless discussion, what is your preferred visor option? I think that the iridium ones look cool, but they seem to be often really dark - unless in absolutely blazing sunlight. There is also a catch here. One of the options will have the style police around faster than you can blink.
That's because, like a L'Oréal survey - no one wants to answer! But they will. OK, then, I'll vote on my own poll. Help get the ball rolling!
I like a clear visor as I can't see through a dark one thanks to nite time miopia I become blind in the dark :-(
I guess I'll have to be detained by the style police preferring clear visors and sunglasses!! Main reason being at low speeds I like to ride with the visor open and feel the wind, smell the flowers etc, and not get wasps, flies, birds, badgers etc in the eyes, still been stung a few times tho. Plus you can just take them off at night and not ponce about with all that carrying/changing visors malarky. Not a cool look tho granted. Like I care.
Not many people can see very well through a dark visor at night. Which is why they don't wear sunglasses at night driving a car. I do the visor change malarky. But I always choose a helmet with a rapid visor change system. Not going to faff around with screws and small coins. I reckon female riders over-index for clear visor preference, men for dark visor preference. There aren't enough female forum members likely to vote to find out here. Is it because women don't think that dark visors are cool, or just don't care? Both I suspect (well, it's no more than a suspicion).
Oi cheeky Glid I can't see normally at night, driving I have glasses that help me see I have tried a dark visor and my helmet had a flip down dark visor for me It's a bit like trying to look into a windscreen with the sun shinning off it I like a dark visor just no good for me So if it wasn't a problem yes I would have a dark visor :-D I like to see not just be a fashion victim or a reason to be stopped by the police
Dark visor with my current lid, Iridium's dont suit it. Though with previous lids it was always an Iridium visor fitted. I always carry a clear visor with me just incase. Thank you Mr Arai for quick change visor system (i've even managed to change it without taking the helmet off a few times)
The silver one with the Arai is pretty similar in tint to the dark one. The silver one with the Shark is super dark. Looks cool, but how cool do you look when you tool into the back of a bus? So I almost never use it. A bit like visual earplugs - you sort of feel removed from the world in a cotton wool cocoon. That's not such a good ides for safe riding. So yeah, safety over cool any time.
