For all you fast tracky boys what is a time for novice, inter and fast groups ? And what bike was they achieved on?
Impossible question. Some fast group guys will be sub 1'40 (think Martin from Ducati Glasgow may in there) whereas others will be mid 1'50's. And some novice just over 2 min, others 2'40. Inters god knows what lol

Racing...I was doing 56's trackday, 50 dead race day. And was at the front of the inters group easily
Tbh if you're a novice I wouldn't aim at anything other than where the track goes and consistent lines
Aiming to find braking points, turn in points, apex points and and exit points. Time will come as you learn them, learn the track first, fight for time later on.
As above, if you are in novice group then don't worry about your lap times as you will be rushing things in the wrong places trying to meet the times. Sort out your lines, braking points, turn in points first and then work at making the braking points later and your turn ins quicker so you 'shrink' the corner. Then you can work on getting up to full throttle as quick as you can for the straight sections. If you do these things then it massively cuts down your lap times without 'trying' to go faster. You know when it's working because you feel like you are doing much less and everything suddenly feels strangely relaxed and peaceful.
This was worth the read for any novices like me. Only thing lacking was advice if if was raining all f*****g day.
Same lines, just slower and smoother...oh and park straight puddles real bad, and halls bends is slippy sloppy slappy and stays wet hours after the rest has dried Hth
I know. The track never dried. Hall bends and barn were bad all day. Even the track boys with proper wets were slow through there. The start straight streams left to right and park straight has a lake at the bottom on the left hand side. 2.25 was the best time I could manage. Standard roads tires etc. Pretty pleased with the day except trying to get out of soaking wet leathers in the hotel room took me longer than a lap.
1:40... Respect.... Nice bit of air under the rear tyre there ;-) Lovely track, just twice as far for me to go as Donington...
Mr Crowe was flying ! It was the first time I'd been to cadwell for 20 year and I've only done the woodland twice before. Had a cruise round as I was dropping bike off for Spain. You forget how narrow the track is
Well if thats a cruise around...it would get you at the front of many Hottrax club races, or would when you add some race pace to trackday pace. Smug git.
