  1. Outrageous !

Real bikers shouldn't be riding roads doing wheelies ......they should be standing in pub car parks, (in their leathers) talking bollocks . :)

  2. I think everyone will be fine - it is Somerset after all

  3. I'm not wagging the finger mate. Like I say I'm just curious. Didn't notice the helicopter this time...

  4. I thought I was getting chased by a police helicopter yesterday as it appeared to be following me for a couple of miles. No ground troops turned up though so I'm hoping there will be no bother. I was riding on empty B roads too which hopefully mitigates any 62mph speeds.

  5. Keep us updated please mate when you ride the 1098. I'm curious as to how you will find it compares to the 848.

    Thanks. Have fun.

  6. Riding the 1098SF over to this years TT provided some of the best biking moments of my life. I will never sell it. I will probably also never have to replace the front tyre...

  7. I only saw 3 while i was there, including mine. Are you from South London darko? I was talking to a guy from Lewisham i think it was, and he said his mate had one at the TT.

  8. I need to learn to love the multi again. It's a great bike but i just love the SF848. When i get back on the multistrada it just feels so agricultural next to the 848. Trying to convince myself I have all I need. Which I do.

  9. I am in South London, don't know anyone from lewisham with a ducati though. Mine is a 2009 S in red with anything unnecessary removed

  10. Were you with two other guys, one had a Monster? He reminded me a bit of Roger Daltrey. Nice guy.

Were sailing from Liverpool on a Friday evening.

  11. I was with my brother on an 848 Evo corse, he looks like me only younger and healthier looking !

  12. I like this about them. I love mine and kind of love the fact that not many people get it. :)

  13. I miss the fact that its unlikely we'll see bikes like the 1098 SF from Ducati anymore. Audi wont want to make anything that doesnt shift in volume, hence the polite new Monsters.

The 1098SF is the last of the fearsome Ducati naked sports bikes which is such a shame.

  14. They do attract attention. I noticed that immediately on bike meets. If they've got unbaffled Termignonis they attract a lot more when you fire them up.
Its a shame more people don't get it because if they did Ducati would still be making them. From what I can see of it they're close to the perfect naked: enough mid range and bottom end grunt to make it huge fun at reasonable(ish) speeds without being overly vicious and plenty of top end when you want to go further but without locking all the fun away in the upper reaches where you rarely dare to use it on a naked. And I love the lissom, narrowness of an unfaired Ducati. It feels so lithe.
Mine's going to Louigimoto shortly for a suspension set-up and an exploratory dyno run and possible ECU reprogramme to make it even fruitier and wheelie-happy.
"Polite" Monsters hits the nail on the head. There's a whiff of fashion items aimed at non-bikers rather than real bikes for real bikers. I suspect that is the Audi gene.
Bang the Diavel engine in a SF frame and bin the electronics. I'll have one.

  15. It's true not many people got the bike when it came out. My dealer says everyone in London just walked straight past to get a 1098 or 848 superbike. For me it's the perfect road bike

  16. What's the speed limit on an empty B road? Isn't it 60?

  17. Have to agree with this, mine is a daily commuter and it ticks every box and then some. Fast, very confortable and with a real road presence.

Other bikes pull over when they hear me behind them in slow traffic, i go through and cars move when they hear it, and all the other bikes follow behind.

I like to think i am providing a service every day. :)
