OK, so I have looked at the options, and had a look at what is available at what cost and how suitable they are for what I want. And the current top choice is a Honda CRF250L. (Yes Kev, I know that's what you said ages ago...). Part of the reason is that it will take Pirelli MT48 tyres for use in trials. Does anyone have any experience of these bikes? Anything that I should be aware of? A local dealer has a good low mileage on at a reasonable price and I am very tempted...
i know a fella that bought one a few years ago never competed in his life and started winning enduros straight away. a lot of tuning parts available. perfect bike for off road.
First time out on t he CRF this weekend - MCC Testing Trial in Somerset... No excuses about the bike this time - if I don't get a good result I'll just have to admit that I have no talent !
So... Didn't fall off, didn't go the wrong way on any sections, didn't hit any markers - in fact picked up no penalties at all, and still ended up 12th in class (of 25) and 54th overall (of 80). It's official, it's not the bike - it's just me that's not very good...
Nice looking bike, it reminds me slightly of a CR250 I used to have, still miss that 2 stroke power band and smell .
Yes, it's a pretty good bike, and I'm quite plesed with it. Next thing is to figure out how to get some extra lights on it...
The CRF250L and Kev's 400 KTM down by Lopwell Dam - a very enjoyable morning of green lanes in east Cornwall...
