Hello All, From the day I bought the Hyper, I loved everything except the standard seat. I test rode both aftermarket options (journey and lower) but I had the same feeling and did not like them at all. More specifically I hate the 'seat hump' and the fact that the rider's movement is restricted due to this 'hump'. Taking the above into account I started thinking of sending my seat to an expert to make it more flat but before doing that my good friend google opened my eyes!!!! I do not know if you are aware as it does not exist in the official Ducati UK accessories catalog but a race seat is available for the new 821 models (hypemotard, sp, hyperstrada) and according to Ducati: The special profile is designed for a more forward ride postion to aid the rider with improved handling and control. Special padding and special fabric cover are used ensure high comfort level and prevent rider from sliding It looks like this: Ducati Hypermotard & Hyperstrada Racing Seat - Pro Italia Online and ordered it from Motorapido (even if I could not find it anywhere to view it) I just received it and went out for a quick ride and i can say what a difference! It is exactly what I was looking for! It is flat, allows movement and changed the riding experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants more movement and a flatter seat profile! Hi Alex, I just picked up my hyperstrada yesterday and also find the stock seat pushes you too far forward and the hump restricts your movement. You still enjoying the race seat? Does it give you the feeling that you are not sitting on the tank ?
So, following the post from Alex on the race seat for the Hyperstrada, I went out and bought one. Well, what can I say!! Basically, it transforms the bike. I have only had my bike around a month but from day one it felt as though I was being pushed into the tank (basically due to the seat hump and the material the seat was made from). The race seat looks wonderful and delivers the following: 1. It will allow you to sit further back 2. it will not push you into the tank 3. You will not slide - you are planted on the seat In short, I love it.
Just ordered one from MR. Radically different profile. My old legs don't bend the way they used to. Hoping this will help on my HS...
This was it on the Ducati web site, but it says not available any more... Racing seat - Ducati Hypermotard Accessories Might be worth phoning a switched on dealer to see what the situation is. I got mine via Moto Rapido.
I just ordere one last week from MotoRapido. Don't have it yet but it has left Italy, so I think that they are still available...
So my Race seat arrived, I put it on, and I have a new bike. Can't tell you the difference it makes to me. So much more comfortable, and critically the ability to move around. Not saying that it would be the same for everyone, but for my height and shape it has transformed my bike.
Is the race seat anything like the lower seat that you can buy Does the race seat finish lower than the standard seat
