I can understand not wanting the Germans to win because you don't much like Germany or Germans, but I can't see why you can hate their football team so much. They play superb entertaining football. I actually wanted the Dutch to win it, but their limp-wristed semi-final was so dire, with no serious attempt being made to score goals (naturally the Argies weren't any better) that I went to bed after the 90 mins, as I just could no longer care who won. The Germans took on the big cheeses and stuck it to them. You have to admire that. It was a superb match and they are a pleasure to watch. I just hope they take apart the Argies in the same manner. When they go forward, they get lots of people in attacking positions and they have clearly worked out some clever plays. And when the goal-scoring chance comes, they put it in the net, instead of lashing it over the bar, whacking it 3 metres from the post, or prodding it tamely at the keeper. What's not to like? Yes, it's a bit annoying that it's the Germans who play in this fine manner (and not say, er... the English) but for the neutral, it's just far better than anyone else's efforts.

Seeing as how my old man was a footballer, I have no real interest everyday matches, but I tend to watch the World Cup Final...... ..........typically the match was a terribly mucky affair (like the UK league stuff) but Germany's goal was how football should be played.......best I have seen for years............
It was a dull final between teams i don't really care for. Yep good goal, well taken. Fair play. But best goal was by James Rodriguez from Columbia.
