1199 Type Exhaust On 999s

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by NigelM, Jun 27, 2014.

  1. Love the look of the 1199 exhausts and would like to get them onto my 999s. Would really tidy up the back end and clear the seat/wheel cavity and rear shock. I know the 1199 unit will not fit but has anyone tried it with a custom system?

  3. Thanks for that, but I'm looking at an 1199 type exhaust that exits just in front of the rear wheel.

  4. Yeh, already edited my post ;-)

  5. Something more like this...

Buy one of these and get the hack saw out - would look interesting I'm sure, probably only route is to make a one off I guess...

  7. Found one on a 999 of sorts.... just doesn't show what the back end would look like!

  8. The same bike as the picture I posted above. That's where the idea came from, just wondered if anyone had tried the same. I think custom will be the only way to go. Can anyone recommend a good exhaust man to speak with around Essex?

  9. OK, a different one :)

  10. Saw that one too, very cool. A bit like the Quat D Ex Box that you see on the Monsters, but they don't make them for 999's. Would be perfect. I guess you go to a good exhaust maker with a few pictures and have a discussion about what's possible.

I think the light cluster would tuck nicely into the hollow in the tail for the current exhaust. Could all look very cool.

  11. Don't know down south, heard good reports of Zorstec Oop North in the Leeds area.

  12. Hi Nigel,

I started a similar thread a bit ago:

I have been inspired by the same American remake of the 999 by Arete.

Let me know if you come up with anything or find anything interesting Nigel as I'm in the same boat and would love to do the same thing!

  13. try Mark at MHP,

He was used by Galleria Bimota many years ago for all the race exhausts on their bims, but I know he used to do custom fabrications - and he's in essexfordshire so you can actually go see him :)
