This whole thing of referring to a bike as a female I find odd. I don't do it with bikes, cars or any machinery I own. My toaster remains entirely gender neutral and it makes me wince when people start referring to the their bike along the lines of "I took her out for a ride, she was sweet". I put some bread in my toaster, she did a lovely job of browning up the crusty bits - doesn't sound right? A simple rant but a few threads I've been browsing have people fawning over the chromosome composition of Italian metal, these people need professional help - from a female doctor.
To be honest I do call the bike a "she". But it's the only inanimate object that I have assigned a gender to. Unless, of course, you include SWMBO
The bike is a she. The campervan is a he. Maybe your gender neutrality approach, is just another manifestation of your 'not fussed' preferences?
