I'll send some photos after I manage to get the engine into the frame. I may have ot use part of the SS frame and weld it to the duplex part of the A7 frame- No need to ask why
That's some machine, I'll post a photo or 2 when I start- I'm still collecting parts at mo. Will probably go to stafford at the end of the month to see what I can get
Anyone know if the exhaust headers for an SS750 1991-1993 air cooled are the same as ( or will fit) the ones on e-bay listed as 1998-2001
A couple of shots of the project to date- BSA A7 frame- plunger rear suspension- Eddie Dow front end- alloy borrani wheels- SS750 engine-
I remember on the old Ducatisti forum, there was a guy who was building a Norton featherbed framed device with a Monster 900 engine. It all looked very nicely done, and he had got the rolling chassis and engine together, then it all went quiet. I was concerned about weight distribution, with that bike. Maybe the handling wasn't that great?
I can't see the handling being great- compared to a modern sports bike with big forks and brakes- however plunger framed bikes did lap the IOM at near 100mph with this type of fork and crap brakes- so it'll be interesting
I've seen something similar, although instead of the orange paintwork it was covered in hair. It was called the flying merkin!
The headers on my '97 carbed 750 SS fit the link pipes for a 2002 750 SS IE PS....You will have to bend those down tubes a bit more if you decide to stick a 900 engine in there.......the belt covers are quite a bit larger. AL.
