Screen tint question

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Maccaa, Mar 19, 2012.

  1. Morning guys and gals,

After a bit of advice if I may, I am looking to get a darker screen for my 1198s, its got to be the same profile as the original, so as Nelson, and Craig from M-Rapido confirm its needs to be a Zero Gravity, Wa11er98s over on the .org site has a dark smoke and it looks good in the pics so I was about to buy, but Craig has informed me its really very dark, almost a solid black. Now I'm not one for "tucking in" but wonders if anyone out there has had any experience of the two tints?

    Cheers

  2. Hi Maccaa,

I have the Zero Gravity, SR light tint, and when I ordered it from Calsport the guy said that it's an 80% tint and the dark one was near on impossible to see through.

It looks black, but you can see through it.

I'll look see if I can find a picture of it.

  3. Hi Anth,

A pic would be good, thanks

So say you were in a garage, not bright sunlight, can you still see the clocks, top yolk etc?

I guess this one is a bit down to personal preference but appreciate the input.

  5. That was in my garage...quite a while ago, but as you can see for a light tint.....it's dark.

  6. It does look pretty dark, still not sure what to do.......

Are those DP mirrors? any better, vibration wise, than standard.

  7. Yeah, they're DP ones,

Still have to do the chicken dance, but a million times better with the vibration.

Now I can see what's behind without rolling off the throttle to stop them shaking.

  14. The light smoke is like a 50%, and the dark smoke is 80% (Almost black)

  17. Evening Matt,

Let me know if you find any and I will do likewise, you would think Ducati would still be making DP " stuff" for the bikes they are still selling!!!! 848 evo corsa anyone?

    Cheers

  18. My mirrors came from Cobb & Jagger, they had them in stock at the time, when they were picked up for me.

But that was a good while ago.

I sold a pair not too long ago, and then they were sold to someone on here, I don't think you'd be happy if I told you how much for, but you'd have killed for them!

  19. No. It's all discontinued. Spoke to my dealer, Moto Rapido the other week as I need to replace one after my off. All 848/ 1198 stuff is no longer available unless they have it in stock.
