anyone else had indicators stop working when bike running very hot and comeback to life once bike cools down?
Had the same problem on mine, it is covered by the TSB (technical service bulletin) 881. You can find the document with the installation instructions in this thread: Tsb 881 - Ducati 1199 Forum I got the wiring harness for the fix from my dealer and did it myself, takes about 30 minutes. The wiring harness which is all you need cost NOK 46, in GBP at current exchange rates that would be around £4.60.
I believe so, but mine is an early 2012, so warranty was out and my nearest dealer is not closeby, so they just mailed the harness and I just did it myself
Just had this happen, bike was in the sun with engine off. After a hour went back to it started ok but right front indicator stopped working, rode for a bit, turned ignition on and off 2 or 3 times then indicator started working again. Been ok since, I will keep a eye on it a report this to dealer as well.
Would definitely tell your dealer about it, it is a quick and easy fix for the problem whether it is very intermittent or on a regular basis it occurs. Especially if the bike is under warranty
Bike goes in 4th August to have this wiring mod done, and a software update as well. So hopefully the indicator issue will be sorted, as its becoming more and more of a problem.
Yes this has just happened to me. Right hand indicator and for some reason when the bike is hot!?. It's a recall issue apparently, however I've never heard anything from Ducati about it. I have a regular stream of brochures and emails from them informing me of the latest in their range of clothing and accessories but never anything telling me about the serious stuff. On a positive note at least Ill still look cool with my Borgo Panigale T shirt and ill fitting white Ducati sunglasses when they're sweeping me up off the road after being wiped out whilst trying to make a right turn with no indicator.
Good to hear others had same right indicator issue, mines the same. Also notice when right indicator won't work neither will the top button on left handlebar switch that changes the trip meter mileage display. Anyone noticed similar - Are the 2 issues connected ?
This is sounding more like an issue BMW had on their "newer" switchgear, I had both sides changed and numerous software updates to get if fixed. Hoping I don't have to go through the same crap with Ducati. It'd not the 100 mile round trip, but the half a day out if the office which smarts.
