1200 Indicators Obscured By Panniers With Tail Tidy?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by JimboP, Jul 25, 2014.

  1. So i'm taking my bike to a Ducati specialist tomorrow for a few bits and pieces, one of which is a tail tidy. I'm slightly concerned that the indicators might be obscured by the panniers once the tail tidy is fitted. Any thoughts?

  2. fit the right one, the R&G is fine, the indicators are on sliders and no issues. That said, lose the OEM and fir Rizoma LED instead as they are smaller.

  3. I think the Evotech one is also fine.

  4. If it is then other road users won't be able to see them, what do you mean by thoughts, like - that would be silly ;)

  5. OK cool - no idea which one it's going to be, so will play it by ear. LED indicators are on the to do list but not for tomorrow (i know - would've been better to do them both in one hit)

  6. I have no issues with my panniers and the tail tidy with LED indicators, they are easily seen and don't interfere. It is a tight fit which I expected but that is what you will have if you want the change. Don't fit a tail tidy and the OEM indicators as they will have a problem as they are pretty big.

  7. OK - might need to replan the tail tidy and do it later. it's all good - not top of my priority list.

  8. As it turns out the tail tidy that Ducati specialist was able to get at short notice isn't compatible with panniers, so tidy and LED indicators are back on the to do list

  9. I did a write up on this sometime ago.
The RG tail tidy is a piece of Sh1t IMHO.
All their other stuff is great...this tail tidy is bloody awful.
I've heard good things about the RIZOMA.
I eventually went for an all in one rear light with built in indicators, looks lovely and sorts out the back end.

  10. All in one unit sounds good. What's it called?

  11. A Mankini?

  12. I would advise you search the forum for previous discussions on these (and similar) tail lights. If in balance none of the legalities bother you then it could be a possible solution for you.

  13. I have the Rizoma tail tidy and it's a nicely made piece of kit, if a bit spendy.

  14. Your bike in profile pic looks amazing. Pikes Peak? Can't zoom in on tapatalk to see. Mind posting a pic?

  15. Oh yes forgot to mention my rear lights may not comply with construction and use, but then HID lights without wash/wipe, small number plates, modified mudguards, after market exhausts, decat (proposed legislation) , tinted visors blah blah blah...

  16. Thanks.

It's been a 2 year project but is finished now.

  17. If you didn't want to change the indicators but wanted much brighter LED bulbs, see Inertia L.E.D. for the bulbs with 150degree pins. Top notch brightness!
