What's One To Do?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by chrisw, Jul 27, 2014.

  1. Quite a few of you on the forum know my hobby is ECU's.

A number of you have also used my loan ECU's to diagnose various problems.

So here's my problem. What's one to do if a forum member is ignoring my requests to return a loan ECU?

  2. is he the same forum member who borrowed my tyre warmers 2 years ago?

  3. name and shame I say if all politeness has failed.

  4. Its a noble thing you do Chris.
I would ask for a returnable deposit on these.
Always one spoils it for others.

  5. Well, the original post is a great start. If the borrower of the ECU is an established member, he/she may want to resolve this without any further delay, with no loss of face.

If there's no reply after a few days (and the borrower has been seen on the forums) - name and shame is the game.

  6. oooh....I hope it's one of those 'notable members' or maybe even a mod. :)

  7. Who got the emu? Come on own up

  8. I bet it's someone called Rod and he's from Humberside or something.

  9. I'd prefer not to name and shame.

PM's have been sent without response despite the member having visited the forum.

  10. Yes, maybe he fell off his roof or something?...

  11. Really not good :( all is not well on the Forum...

  12. Tell em straight "I have a very particular set of skills, skills i have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my ecu go now that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and i will kill you"...
And if that dont work name and shame.....

  13. Did this get resolved?

  14. You could ask Rob or me to help. Just a thought

  15. Theres always one who ruins it for the rest. Chris's generosity and kindness has helped me out before. I'm pretty sure others have too, so please return this item so that he can continue to place his trust and goodwill, otherwise we will find out and you will return to your bike to find it has no ecu. I know you will read this thread. So come on, play the game.

  16. I know this is not the first time it has happened to you Chris!
A good tip for the future would be to change the rev limiter to something low, like 5000rpm.
That way you can still test/run the bike on your ECU but it is not useable for riding.
