  3. Trailer does not show much tbh. More like a teaser. The best is I guarantee they will do a marathon of originals then on midnight new one. I am up for that.

  8. Yes, it was a great film, but in Scorsese terms, not as good as Casino which is just fantastic.
Joe Pesci is so horrible in his role, de Niro is characteristically brilliant (at least, it was characteristic until he started doing shoddy pastiche parts) and Sharon Stone is not only as sexy as hell, she plays the complete pain-in-the-arse bitch to perfection.
Amazing acting, top story line, sprinkling of violence. What's not to like?

  9. De Niros blue suit ;)

  10. It was set in Vegas....

    'Nuff said.

  11. I've never seen it. Its on my movies to see list now

  12. Ooo! You have a treat in store. One of my favourite films!
Better even than Goodfellas, I reckon (and if you haven't seen that, you're going to have a busy weekend).

  13. I have to go with Goodfellas as the more enjoyable film of the two but either one is a solid choice :upyeah:

  14. Forget about it!

  15. You're a funny guy, Matt!

  17. I thought the first one was a bit dull, but I saw the second one a week ago and thought it was excellent. Now really looking forward to the third one.

  18. Saw Ridley Scott's Prometheus last night. What are the views on that?
I liked it, although it didn't break any new ground. As usual, it was dystopian and bleak. Plenty of nasty monsters - not for the overly squeamish. It's pretty similar to Alien in many respects. Visually very impressive and I thought the acting was good. Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace are easy on the eye which never hurts.

These things are really just horror films set in space, aren't they? With "it's behind you!" moments. I did read a few reviews on Rotten Tomatoes after watching, but I thought that the negative ones were overly harsh, as if the film is some very pale imitation of Alien. That's the problem with ground-breaking films - everything that comes afterwards is going to seem like a pale imitation. Much like the Matrix films, all of which I enjoyed.

  19. I liked Prometheus but I went into it not knowing it was one of the Alien series, or by Ridley Scott.

I watch Easy Rider at the weekend. Peter Fonda. Dennis Hopper. Pile of shit.

  20. Easy Rider - somewhat of its era, maaaaan.
