yeh now I know why ive paid £200 for full race kits in the past they put a lot of work into them [NOT], btw how much is the full body kit with tank it looks good.
^ compared to the genuine replacement parts costs for Ducati Superleggera fairings and tank - a blinking bargain! The SL rear seat unit and fairings is £4.5k alone to replace!!
Full roadkit setup, including the 5 piece road seat unit Setup with front mudguard and there Carbon Tank = £3809.08 (£4570.90 inc 20% UK VAT.) BUT, Thanks to CDT on here who generously offer a 20% discount to members. The Total drops to, £3049.00 (£3658.80 inc 20% UK VAT) NOW, If you buy the one piece race seat unit and subframe setup(£1500) instead of the 5 piece road seat unit setup(£835.00) the total comes to, £4,483.25 (£5,379.90 inc 20% UK VAT) / £3586.60 (£4303.92 inc 20% UK VAT) WITH Discount.
just looking back on the thread and the difference in the gears etc before and after super finishing is plain to see!
This may of been asked before sp apologies if it's been said. But why start with a SL and not just a base model bike?
Know an EX mate who did this to his superduke engine a few years ago, amazing how easy it was to turn over with his finger. He also DLC'd the pistons along with a load of other internal parts. His downfall was always that he thought max rwhp was all about maxing out the Comp ratio ontop of bigbore and strokercrank. He went through a ton of starter gears. I stupidly fell into his trap and bought his 15.7/1 comp tlr 1065cc engine off him with yoshi kit internals for £6k Still got the Ti rods and cases off it. Tried running it on the road(lol) It needed a powerstation instead of a battery to start it.(lol) Killed new fully charged battery. What made it worse was the fact it also ran a kit genny, so no charge to battery below 6-7k. Anyway, Back to this amazing 1199sl/rs/wsbk build
Various reasons: - The delta between a SL and WSBK is smaller than base and WSBK - when I became aware of SL several months b4 anyone knew about it, I wanted it - the SL actually has items not on WSBK (like mag frame)
ooo I like that. looks business like. when the little upside down sharks fin is the same colour as the side panel by the air scoop, it gives coherence to the side profile.
Hey Luke - thanks for the post. Love the bike and termi system. Also nice to know people are being shown the bike at MR as it becomes a reality. I had an R and tracked it with "race" system that came with the bike so have an idea to base the next bike with. I did not ride the SL - it simply was too hot in Dubai and I had also pre-sold some of the gear on the bike and wanted to honour that deal with the person who made the purchase. Part of me wished I had ridden it for sure, but the project was always about building something - I was just lucky to get the SL which was the base to work from. I am intrigued with your exhaust system - is it the +300mm system? I am even more intrigued by the inconel.... this stuff is awesome but was not aware the system was made in inconel..... where did you get it from? I assume you track your bike - how is it? What was the base bike before you altered it? Have you changed your triple and head stock? What else did you change? Did MR do the work? Cheers.
^ hey Luke, yeah I saw the post on FB re: mapping booboo! That's cool about your bike - and your pa did the work - how cool is that! wow. let me know how your bike build develops. cheers.
will do mate!!!looking forward to more updates from yourself!!been two years waiting for some serious work to start on the 1199 and for the race parts to start trickeling in
Well, went to MR today and saw the bike in transformer mode - was really nice to have a proper chat to the guys doing the build. Mike from RAGE sent the final paint scheme and I am SOOOO chuffed with it - an amazing job. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. Tick tock!
I would like to see what sort of lap times its capable on with a top rider ? bet it wont be far off lap record times ,
