  1. My newbie thread has got nearly 2000 views. I think I should get a share of the advertisement money you guys get from the site.

I know the response, 'you get to use this site for free, so shut up'

  3. how much does it cost to run a site like this?

  4. More interestingly, how much does it cost compared to how much does it bring in in advertising revenue?

I don't expect an answer to this, no matter how much I'd like to have it.

Also, what does it really cost in terms of time? (Not so much faffing about reading and writing, but maintenance and programming.)

  7. Yeah but four people with 27000 odd views each.....and no regulation of any rules -repetition, hesitation, deviation......

    ;)

  8. And I just fart in your general direction. :)

  9. Was there any hesitation, repetition or deviation, in that exercise?

  10. yes, 'fart' was mentioned 24,000 times

  11. Hesitation - No. It was done with utmost confidence. :)
Repetition - Of course. It's the law :)
Deviation - None whatsoever. As I said it was done with confidence :)

  12. and thumbs up, from everyone in the office- as they reach for the window handles....?

  13. does it matter if the site makes money, long as it continues as log as you want it to? Its like ambulance chasing your hits..

  14. not really, but i am enjoying the lack of contribution from our founding fathers. :Angelic:

  15. It varies hugely depending on who hosts it, how fast it is etc. I used to run a small American car forum quite a few years ago, our URL was hosted on the cocos islands giving us a pretty nice .cc URL (car club) and using (iirc) mini bb the cost was about £40 per year. It was a far smaller forum though, I'd expect this one to cost many many times that.
