After reading a post in the 899 area, I thought I would post here also. I have just clocked 5,000 miles on my '14 Pikes Peak, I have been to Mugello and Swindon and some other less notable places across the south coast and around Normandy. So far it has been fault free and an absolute joy to ride, it puts a smile on my face every time I look at it and I am still addicted to the noise when it's pulling hard. Just thought I would say, thats all. (Just Kidding about Swindon, not going there because I did but about it being a notable place)
I've clocked up a shade over 6k in just under a year, not had any tours thats just weekend pleasure stuff. And still only used sport mode once on the road and enduro never...and suspension pretty much on stock settings
I've probably only done 2000miles but it really is one of the best bikes I've ever owned and without issue so far.
Of my 5,000 miles probably 2,000 of these has been pleasure stuff rather than actually going somewhere of you know what I mean, agree about the modes, I have not changed any of the settings, it just seems so sorted that I am not sure if I could improve it. If I had one to give a negative comment it would be about the heat on my right leg from the collector box, but considering the rest of the bike that is such a minor issue to me. Think I'll take it to work tomorrow
3300 miles since march and likely another 2500 - 3000 in 3 weeks , still the best do it all bike out there
I have done 2100 miles in the first month of ownership, including a trip to Cornwall. No issues and getting about 44 to the gallon overall. It does get well used as far as revs are concerned, I love it!
I have done 3900 miles since May including a trip to Italy, second Mutley and the 2013 upgrade was well worth it! Love it to bits!
12000 miles up on my 2012 with no major problems, one or two minor ones quickly sorted by my dealer. Tend to leave it in Touring with occasional forays into Sport (on smooth roads) and Enduro (on some rougher roads). Overall I am well pleased.
Took the mrs to Goodwood this morning for Breakfast, on to the Lobster Pot cafe at Bognor and then to Petersfield for Tea & cake on the way home across the South Downs. Got in about 4.30, then sat in the Garden with a bottle of Red. What a brilliant day, the only bad bit was the woman who walked up to my mate and told him that the red 'blade was the nicest bike until we turned up, now it's yours she said - he rides a Harley and I will never hear the last of it!
I'm on 9k in 9 months, and apart from the usual probs like new dash new left handlebar cluster new right handle bar cluster collapsed suspension on the back broken centre stand bolt corroding calliper bolts corroding casings and cylinders, a number plate bulb that I cant change wobbly number plate and shaky rear indicators rusty chain jammed solid exhaust valve have the seat altered and a waterlogged key Hazard lights that come on every few miles when I signal left. leaky brake fluid rez and a crap back brake. Mines been fine
Yep, had most of the problems fixed before I set off, just the leaky brake rez number plate light and key to get done now. Casings and cylinder the dealer said give it a year and we'll get them changed under warranty.
Dudes...get out there....+30K...ummm.... best....bike,.....ever.... Carlsberg...probably the best bike...in the world..(Clarkson Voice over). Ok the back brake is sh!t. needs loads of mods. The Seat is too high for short arses...sorry Paul. The exhaust valve is the best example ever of why we should leave the EU. Delete with cat as soon as you feel comfortable. After 1500 miles a free dyno with Cjs. Should have had a sat Nav, TPMS and steering damper from day one...as standard. factory tools should include rear and front wheel socket; 1500mm bar and 200Kg gorilla . Puncture repair kit. Some decent accident (failing over) protection as standard....now know as " Ducati Protection system". Oh and a 120 month warranty. I still love it.........
