I had a ride on the 848 and it reminded me of an R6, yes I will be burned alive by many for saying this but I hated it..revvy as feck..the 899 is all together a better bike...however I do have a 1098s and its fantastic, noisy to a point that I dont like the rattle of the clutch (far worse than my 996) so I won't be keeping an open cover on much longer, will have suspension set up at Kais and have some one look at the ecu, as recommended in this thread its a gorgeous bike, better looking than the 1199..oops burned again no doubt!!
OK, after a pleasant day, i have brought home the new bike....super happy. Aint really rode it, been lying up for a bit, but will take it out tomorrow (bank holiday Mon) after i check tyre pressures etc. But wont be riding it on, needs belts etc. Its booked for full service and suspension set up this week. Cant wait to wind it up ! Tks to rdryder for driving down with his rather cool motolug trailer. Bought it here in IE, but its an orig UK bike. ( my only gripe, its got some sort of Ducati cobra alarm to which I dont got a manual. But have asked UK dealer where bike originated to help out ).
Did a shit one on mine and all they wanted to do was sell me a new spring, my mate has had his gixxer in there twice and it's good out with major faults one being the the front brakes locking up this happened both times when they knew he was off to do track days
@ ritchierich...your kidding aren't you??? Kais have been tops and are well known for their work, team I sponsor at the IOM TT, Ulster GP and various other meets use them and NEVER had any issues
@749sdb....nice bike you won't be disappointed oh and take the alarm off get a Bike Trac..far easier, even text massaged me to say my battery was running low!!! how cool
After what I've sent of my mates bike and they have taken around 1500 quid of him, no I'm not kidding They may look after top teams but not the man on the street easy money for them!! Front brakes that locked solid 2x very very dangerous Throttle cables rooted wrong so they pull open Badly fitting fairing so they rub on the floor Sticking throttle And sold him the wrong brake lines
@ritchierich...disagree with your comment about not looking after the 'man on the street' my dealigns with them happened BEFORE I got involved with a team and they were excellent BUT like everyone in the service industry they may have a bad day and lose a customer...JHP and others who trade on reputation are no different
I took my bike in for a suspension set and all they did was put the rear to the softest Settings and told me I needed the buy a spring off them Rip off
@ritchierich YES you said that mate and my response is sorry to hear and I refer to my previous post...
If your happy with them that's fine but for me never again I would give up biking before going there again
ok rich point taken mate ..have a culpa and calm your calm your nerves oh I take you addressed your complaints to Nick and the lads there??
