Hi looking for some of the above but put of by the price. Anyone selling or know where to get a pair reasonably priced. 34 waist 30 leg. Regards Steve
Four or five pairs of 34" auctioning on eBay at Moment? Don't worry about leg length. Kevlar Is in the knees so just get a local shop to shorten them. http://bit.ly/P0e7vX
you tend to get what you pay for, there is some bone fide rubbish out in the market place Bought a pair of hood jeans 5 or 6 years ago, still got them and still happy with them
I have to pairs of draggin. Very comfy and supposed to be the best in a situation! When off the bike look just like normal jeans.
I've used Hood jeans for years and years, been very good, last well. Never had an off in them, but they're good quality.
there was a thread on another forum of somebody having an off in draggin jeans, these are not fully lined and he landed on a unlined portion of the jeans - severe gravell rash as he may as well have been in normal jeans
I can definitely see the point of them, but having destroyed quite a few pairs of normal jeans in my motorcycle career over the last 30 odd years, I am now pretty much strictly leather only. Keeps me out of hospital. Could be handy to have a pair for occasional use (like going to a rock concert) when on arrival, you don't want to spend your time looking like a racetrack refugee (and getting seriously hot). But I doubt they are a substitute for leather. Looking at the offs people seem to have had on this forum, it seems that you can't have too much protection when it all goes tits up. And you never know when that's going to happen.
have had 2 offs in red route jeans 1st one was a 25mph winter slip, had keys in pockcet which tore holes throiught he outer cotton layer, inner kevlar was unbroken. result big bruses and very mottled thigh 2nd off was a 50+mph flying lesson and slide (with nothing in pockets) and the jeans were unmarked apart from a slight dark abraision mark. ( im still wearing these now) small brises and friction burn the goretx windproof base layer i was wearing underneath the jeans completely melted from the heat of the slide so all in i think they are pretty good kit
Well they arrived today and I have to say I'm impressed, the quality looks better than the Draggin ones I tried and they look the least like motorcycling jeans I've ever seen
Ive been tempted with some Draggin Jeans, but if I'd wanted some, I would have bought them by now. Leather all the way, no matter the weather. Got to have a prolayer underneath to get them off thou
I have Draggin jeans, they are ok, but there are several areas in the jeans that do not have Kevlar..I agree with Matt, leather on any trips, except when I do a 3 mile trip into my local town... It is easy to cool down on a hot day, but it takes months to get rid of road rash...unfortunately I have experience and the scars from 8/9 years ago!!!
That must have been a really weird landing then, given that all the major contact points (bum, hips, knee/shin) are covered. Did he groin surf down the road or something? I have a couple of pairs for daily summer usage before switching to textiles in the winter. I'm simply the wrong shape for leather trousers, it's impossible to get any to fit comfortably (even made to measure). That said, I might have a chat with Kate at Hideout about making something textile based instead for the daily commute.
My hood jeans are 5 years old are still in good nick, had an off on them, didn't slide down the road though..virtually unmarked !!. I'll be getting another pair once these have worn out !
I tried some Draggin and wasn't that impressed, the Sartso ones I've got have much more Kevlar, on me the Kevlar comes right down to my boots. What I could really do with is a belt that will attach my Alpinestars jacket to my jeans, but I haven't managed to find one yet..
