Think the Grey/silver would have to be angled, with yellow showing on the bottom panel from either under the winglet to the top right corner or from the bottom of the V piece in line with the clutch slave. Needs a splash of the same colour in the top half to balance it. Just my opinion....
I like the idea of this but I cannot picture exactly what would work. I agree that tracing lines is probably the best approach. You may find that you've gone through a lot of paint and your fairings may end up weighing many kilogrammes before you come up with the answer. Good luck!
Agree with andyt749. Currently it looks amateurish as it doesn't flow with the lines of the bike in any way.
I've done a couple of variations on it, i personally think the change in panel and colour is too severe, needs to be more swept, as in the second option. imgurl
Hmm...all silver might just look ok...not sure, but agree that the seam throws it. It looks too linear. Be interested to see it all silver though.
Thanks for all the comments guys.....i agree with most of them ,it doesn't look as good as I thought it would,in fact the more I look at it ,it doesn't look good at all....but it was only an experiment....will be putting it back to standard asap.......WOW what a pretty bike!!!!
It is going to be hard to improve on that!! The silver frame and grey swingarm really suits the yellow. Very nice.
As the first suggestion - take the diagonal the other way from the top rear corner of the lower panel. Angle it down to the bottom of the barge board: then it might look less crappy - can't photoshop to show you
Can't knock a guy for experimenting I suppose but some how I think they look better all in one colour. Although red always looks better as the voting in a early thread clearly shows ( lol) I was wondering what the bottom half would look like in black or even carbon wrap? The black would match your swing arm or the carbon would go well with the other carbon bits. Just a thought........
Agree: best colour for 999's is Red, my 3 are red, best colour for 998's Yellow as mine is, although if I got another 998 it would be Red...
3 because I sold my 999S Just a 999R, 999R Fila and 999 Prototype left - investments really, that's what I tell myself - but it will be hard to part with them!
Nooooooooo don't part with them. Keep em! Love the fila reps. I've got the image burnt into my mind of Neil Hodgson exiting Brands Hatch pit lane in 2003 and hearing the bike roar past me whilst I stood totally dum struck at Paddock Hill bend. A awesome sound I never forget. The FP1 bikes sounded great too.
