Just Ordered The Italian Temptress!

  1. Am new here and thought I will make the first post by announcing I have just put down a deposit for a Red 899. Will be ready for pick up in a week. Got a decent deal considering how they are in demand. Few quid off, couple of accessories thrown in and discount on servicing during warranty.
Now need to shop for all the accessories....whoooo hoooo.

It was between a fireblade and the pani.... Heart won in the end, coming from a 2001 zx6r I have had for 10 years. Dealer in Kent offered a fair price for that too.
    Can't' wait!!

  11. Any recommendations for dark tint double bubble screen? Will most likely go for Bruudt tail tidy after reading a few posts, anyone fitted this and was it easy enough? Any suggestions welcome for both upgrades.

  12. ive just ordered a bruudt tail tidy so hopefully itll be here soon. another poster said it was easy

  13. Have the Bruudt too, good choice fella.
Tip I have is make the tail light up before putting on the bike, you'll see what I mean.
Now I've done it I can have the whole tidy off using only four bolts and a long torx. No need to take any plastics off the bike.

  14. Do you mean test the tail light works before bolting everything up? Confused slightly:)

  15. [IMG]No, from memory the tail light is the last part to go on the Bruudt before putting it on the bike, the light goes in to a pre-fabricated slot but mine was to tight so I had to take the indicators of having just put them on the tail tidy.
Then I slackened everything off so the tail light would fit in (there are two main screws as in the attached pic).
Only pointing this out as I was rather pissed off having gone through the steps in order only to find it would have been easier to fit the tail light before the indicators!
Once that was sorted though the rest was easy

  16. Thanks Ronin. Did you reuse the oem plate light?
It's this sort of thing why forums are great! I have been shopping for bits and the bike isn't even here yet! Other half p..d off when I told about where my hard earned cash had gone.... Which was not towards a people carrier! So I might as well go the full Monty and bling the Bella up. 2 italian babies in the garage now... Alfa Romeo 159 and the 899. Jokes have already started at work but I know deep down they are all just jealous. :D. Counting days!

  18. Yes fella, you reuse everything if you wish.
I bought the led indicators from the 1199s as the original ones looked huge once I put the tail tidy on.
This is where it all starts....

  20. Picked her up on Wednesday evening. Been busy riding, 110 miles on clock now. Glad I chose Red. Its just awesome. Taking it a bit easy during running in but still fab. So much different to my old Zx6r. Sportier riding position so more weight on wrists but soon forgotten as the throttle is opened. What a sound on tick over... and on revving. Turns heads everywhere I go. People I do not know that well at work are asking me about it. Am not usually one for attention but I must admit the 899 in red is just a thing of absolute beauty and am loving all the attention. Finished removing the tail, fitting the Bruudt tail tidy tomorrow. More of riding impressions later. Here is a pic first..... Going back to standing in the garage at midnight just to stare at the beauty .. Until dawn :)) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1408145176.363553.jpg
