Depends what you mean by "justifiable". If you were an Israeli trying to hang on at all costs to the land conquered by the previous generation, any and all expedient actions might seem to be "justifiable". If you were an external neutral observer, who despises both parties equally, nothing done by the Israelis could be objectively "justifiable".
