Trust me, a large part of England beyond the Westminster village more often than not gets a government it doesn't want and didn't vote for. And not a single voter in the entire United Kingdom voted for the current government nor for most of its policies which have been made up on the hoof. But that's democracy for you. Scotland, in fact, is over-represented in Westminster relative to the other members of the UK and it has its own Parliament, which England does not, and it has the completely gratuitous right to vote on England-only affairs while English MPs cannot vote likewise on Scotland's, and it receives £10 billion a year, mostly from English tax payers, not to compensate for the treacherous theft by the English of "Scottish" oil, nor as reparations for Culloden, nor to cover the extra cost of emptying the bins in the impenetrable fastnesses of the highlands with their perfectly surfaced, empty and fully accessible road system, but to appease Scottish nationalism. Didn't work of course, but the adolescent minds in Westminster don't appear to have noticed that and so they plan to prostrate themselves further by offering Scotland devo-max. So chin up, its not as bad as all that.
