  2. Nah, I'm sure it'll be alright, I actually like the gold frame.

It is a strange one though, they didn't make them with a gold frame so at some point it's been stripped, which is weird with it being a 14 plate.

What year was it actually manufactured? I'm wondering if it could have started life as a race bike as then there's no need to register it.

  3. I notice the grips are lock wired too

  4. LG plate is Wimbledon ?

You can find out year of manufacturer by chassis . I'd certainly ask a few questions as it just seems wierd to paint its frame when it's so new

  5. And it's got a ride hieght adjuster in the rear, which the evo doesn't have as stock. Also it has Ohlins fork internals in it, quite a good spec, but worth finding out what it's history is. Taking the fairing off will show a lot

  6. Not seen the bike in the flesh (It is 250 miles away) but supposedly the story is that it was used for testing / development for some aftermarket company before being sold privately to the person who registered it for the road, so there is a good chance it has seen some track action although this doesn't put me off! Need to track this person down to find out more about the company that had it first really!

It has got a great spec which is what appealed to me - The dealer in question is 'Sargents of Sussex'

  7. I really like the gold frame too! It has definitely been stripped during its testing days, and while he couldn't say for sure without taking it apart the dealer was also told that the engine had been blueprinted too!

  8. race bike! ...........now to find out who and how many DNF's...........

  9. There's a lot of question marks around that bike. I'd be backing away with my hands in the air I think.

But it's your money.... Do what you think is right.

  10. Wheels are wrong colour too. The artic white came with red wheels.

I can't really tell from the photo, but if it's pearlescent white then something is definitely up as that colour wasn't available for the Evo model.

  11. It might not be a bad thing at all bit I would try and find out, I presume you've done a HPI?

Get the frame and engine numbers and fire them off to a Ducati dealer, I'm sure you'll get more info

  12. still, the bike looks mint! :upyeah:

  13. Details from the web site...

WOW ! Ducati 848 Evo in gorgeous Arctic White Silk. Registered and declared new in March 2014, and with 1 registered keeper, this bike had been previously supplied unregistered to a Ducati tuning firm and used for development and testing of performance enhancing components including, suspension, brakes, exhausts and ECUs etc. Key spec. includes (expensive) Ohlins fork internals, Showa rear shock with ride height adjuster, Accossato quick action throttle, Tamburini slipper clutch and Leo Vince Performance Exhausts with a Dynojet Power Commander V. Other nice options include Ducati Corse Carbon tank pad, Ducati Corse Matt Black front mudguard, Ducati Corse Carbon rear hugger and chainguard and Ducati Corse Carbon ignition key surround in addition to the usual very high 848 Evo specification which includes Brembo monobloc calipers, Lightweight 5 spoke Enkei wheels, Magnesium sub frame, Steering damper and LCD instruments. With the professionally set up Ohlins front end, combined with a quick action throttle, Tamburini slipper clutch, glorious Leo Vince Performance Exhausts and spot on Dynojet PC V fuelling, this is an extremely well set up, crisp handling and awesome sounding bike. In fantastic, perfect condition, this is an excellent opportunity to purchase a 2014 14 reg. bike, with £££s of extras at a very low price.

  14. So how much then? ;)

  15. A very low price evidently... it say's in the ad ;)

  16. If it's too cheap to be true, it may not be

  17. It also says this: All books/keys/manuals/history present - so surely he will tell you, unless he doesn't mean pre registered history of course. As someone else suggested - check it's age with the frame number then you will understand better it's worth. If it's been run and tested since 2007 then it's worth what a 2007 bike is with that mileage - not a 2014

  18. Hpi I don't think would tell much of a story. It's where it has been before being registered that's more of a question. Happy to hpi it if required but doubt there's much point.

  19. what mileage and what service history.....

  20. Registered March, so 5 months old - think it said 4000 miles? Wonder when or if the book was stamped for the first service if used pre registration as appears likely. Ask what the service stamps, dates and mileage says if you haven't done already.
