The tours at Ducati are very organized and you need to book in advance typically anyway. You might get lucky but don't drag the whole family out there on the off chance or your name will be mud!

Holy shit. I just googled the ducati museum in bologna and you can actually see inside the place. Ok, not the same as being there...

Yes, the factory is shut for August and everyone goes on holiday with only a skeleton staff in place (plus Corse, etc).
I think even the shop across the road is shut! They're probably all in Misano as well

 

hows the weather in misano ? we usually go every year and stay in the hotel vanni,lovely place for a holiday.

 

check if open and then its a train straight to bologna.
