^ ^I have a full one piece rear seat/subframe going on mine by fullsix and no issues whatsoever and it's even lighter than the assembly that has come off SL and a third of the price!
Isnt carbon potentially one of the issues, given its the stiffness and lack of predictable flex that stops the bike handling too well? That why. They junked Funny thing is, you have shipped it half way across the world, had a full strip and nut and bolt rebuild incl engine, sourced exotic parts and had them delivered in less time than I have had a front and rear suspension build and PC5 fit and dyno!! Ffs ths is what good services looks like compared to absolutely shite service!
I suspect it may have something to do with the amount of money being spent @bradders......... That and that the place your is in is clearly a joke
^ truth be known, MR can build an RS from scratch in two weeks; so the near three months mine has taken is stretching it a bit - but that is not down to MR - some of the suppliers not honouring their word and Ducati Corse nabbing parts too! The biggest culprit being HEL brake lines - bleedin dog slow!
Ducati built the SL to prove what can be done when they bring all there experience and expertise to bare. Carl is showing what can be done if you not only have the money to spare, BUT more importantly, you have the love for Motorcycles that he clearly does and the extra bit of Joy and Excitement THEY can bring into your life. M.R. have proved what THEY can and are willing to build for ANY customer who not only has the extra money to spare/or not, and a love for Motorcycles. While Carl has indeed spent a small fortune on this bike, he WOULD of had to spent ALOT more if it was not for M.R. Going the extra mile and sourcing some extra special parts at Very Special prices for him.
but its never going to be ridden to its abilities as I doubt (no offence to anyone on the forum) there is anyone on the forum able to ride to WSBK levels and the opening line ....'not doing to show off' is like opening with ' I am not racist ..but' LOL it's an example of having more money than sense..as someone pointed out to me regarding builds...they are best appreciated when the person owning does the building and not simply pays masses of cash to a mechanic the bike is amazing in standard form...the build will be amazing and I wish the owner luck but it still begs the question..why?? i now stand by for a barrage of abuse...maybe even black listed LOL
^ no barrage coming from me. The purpose of this thread was to share something with fellow enthusiasts; I knew full well some would enjoy whilst others would question. I am happy for people to express their views.
Equally, why not? Everything moves on. You can be at the front of it or the back. If I had the money and opportunity, I'd do something very similar. And as far as there being no one that can ride it properly, since when is that a barrier to entry? My 999 is way better than me, have I to give it up for a honda cub?
ha ha fair [email protected] my 1098s and Hyper SP are beyond my measure LOL like i said I am sure that the build will be a WOW...I only wish I could get the standard one never mind bling it to the max!!
mate ..I ENJOY it....I like seeing what people do and I may nick some ideas...good luck with the build and move fast stay low in the sand pit
Example of the little things MR are doing - adding rubber stops to protect frame in case of tank slapper.
What Carl is doing with his SL is a great build tbh, I can't say that I would want to do the same with mine, but each to there own. As Kope also shared his build. As well as the Trials & Tribulations of building the ultimate 1199R Trackbike. Its hard when you've spent a fortune and see it tumbling down the track as Kope has (sadly) done over the last few months irrespective of who was at fault. Still I'm not sure I'd could do the same in all aspects of what these 2 guys have done. No doubt when Carl gets it finally home, he'll post up some photo's which most if not all will drool over at some point. It'll be 1 hell of bike I'm sure, so enjoy it when it finally arrives.
Love the build, I couldn't care less if it's sensible or if Carl could ride it to its full potential, that's not the point. Carry on, like rubber pad steering stop info'
